What is Synchronized Skating? Beginner 1 Skate Canada Beginner 2 2021/2022 Pre Juvenile Categories Elementary (based on 2018/2019 season) Juvenile Pre Novice Novice Intermediate Open Junior Senior Potential Ice Fyre category for the 2021 / 2022 season. Final categories will be decided after auditions depending on number of skaters, their ages, and abilities

Senior Senior is the highest category. Canadian Senior and Junior teams have the chance to compete internationally representing Canada. Not all teams represent Ice Fyre. What Team Should My Skater Audition For? Synchronized Skating Experience is Not • Please use this document as a general guide to determine what team your skater should audition Required to Audition for Any Category for (see each categories requirements in the slides that follow, as well as videos) • If your skater fits into auditions for two categories, and they would like to attend both auditions, please register and pay for both on Uplifter • Please respect the guidelines in the following pages and register accordingly (ex. age, skill level) • If necessary, after the first audition, the coaches will let skaters know what audition they should attend the second week • If you have any questions regarding what team your skater should audition for, please email icefyresecretary@outlook.com and your email will be forwarded to the appropriate coach • Register for auditions at https://icefyre.uplifterinc.com/registration/
Audition Dates BEGINNER I & BEGINNER II Sunday, August 22 from 5:00-5:50 p.m. Sunday, August29 from 5:00-5:50 p.m. • Under the age of 12 as of July 1, 2021 • Skaters from the 2020 CanSynchro program and 2019/2020 Beginner I team JUVENILE Sunday, August22 from 6:00-6:50 p.m. Sunday, August 29 from 6:00-6:50 p.m. • Under the age of 15 as of July 1, 2021 • Skaters who have passed Junior Bronze tests or higher • Skaters from the 2019/2020 Beginner II team who are over the age of 12 as of July 1, 2019, and from the 2019/2020 Pre Juvenile team under the age of 15 as of July 1, 2021 Please Attend Both Audition Dates All Auditions will Take Place at Mckinney Arena - 222 McKinney Dr, Whitby, ON We encourage registration in advance If registering in person, please arrive 30 minutes before the audition time

These Not ranked are the 2018/2019 elements.

Dependent on number of skaters 75% below 13 as of July 1, 2021 Based on projected est. & 2019 costs # of Skaters Music Time Competition Elements* 8-16 Max. 3:10 Skate once/competition Pivoting block, (20 including alternates) 4 competitions travelling wheel, intersection, moves, no * Ages, # of skaters, music time, competition, and elements are released annually by Skate Canada, usually in the summer. These hold, line OR circle are the 2018/2019 elements.
Coaches C A P T I O N H E R E C A P T I O N H E R E Mel Tanishah Nancy Mackie Nathoo Meredith 50 years of synchronized skating coaching experience, Ice Fyre’s coaches, combined, have over and have all competed internationally, representing Canada. Mission Ice Fyre is a non-profit organization with a long and successful history of synchronized skating in Whitby. We encourage fun, team spirit and personal growth in the sport of synchronized skating at all levels. We believe that participating in sports is a healthy, both physically and mentally, part of an individual’s life. Success is not only measured by the medals or awards we bring home, but also by the growth and achievements of each individual within the Ice Fyre family. Ice Fyre has enjoyed a rich history in the Town of Whitby, representing the WFSC regionally, nationally, and internationally for more than 30 years.
