We will be reviewing the schedule based on demand and changes to re- strictions and we ask for your understanding during those times. Home Support Services Update Shopping Services and Accompanied Activities Escorted shopping services and accompanied activities have been temporarily suspended during the pandemic to help clients and staff maintain social distanc- ing. We understand many older people are beginning to get out and about or are thinking of a time in the near future when more outdoor activity will be possi- ble. We are monitoring the situation closely and have begun planning to resume accompanied activities as soon as it is safe to do so. We continue to complete shopping for clients on their behalf if a shopping list and cash is provided. If you need to get to the bank or to pay bills, see page 14 of the newsletter for details about the essential assisted transport and community transport service that may be able to help you. Assistance at home Our services to support you at home are continuing to operate during COVID-19 but some things have changed temporarily to ensure everyone’s health and safety. Staff wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when providing ser- vices in your home. Personal care, domestic assistance and meal preparation services are available if you require support with hygiene, with maintaining a clean and safe home or preparing meals. Staff will work with you to accommodate social distanc- ing and will respect your preferences wherever pos- sible. Our home maintenance and home modifications ser- vices are still operating with some restrictions. Respite services are available, however, in most situations clients cannot be taken outdoors for activities. Talk to us directly on 9262 6110 to find out if respite is suited to you during this time.
