Message from the Director The COVID‐19 pandemic has certainly affected us all in many ways. Throughout the passed year, the Parks & Recrea‐ on staff have con nued to offer programs through Zoom and in person. We also assisted senior ci zens with grocery shop‐ ping and ge ng appointment for the COVID‐19 vaccina ons. Now, as restric ons have eased, we are moving ahead toward normalcy! Pre‐schoolers through seniors are returning to pro‐ grams. We are serving lunch to the seniors. Camp Menunkatuck will be at Jacobs Beach. Get Out Way Out trip camp for teens is back. Concerts at the Beach and on the Green will feature outstanding bands. Lake Quonnipaug and Jacobs Beach will be open Memorial Day weekend. Fireworks are scheduled for July 10. Pickleball players will be thrilled to know we will be construc ng 4 new courts at Bi ner Park. We an cipate comple‐ on by September. A Health & Wellness Fair co‐sponsored with Guilford Youth & Family Services will be held on the Green June 12 from 11:00AM—2:00PM. Payment in full is required at the time of registration. NOTE: There is a $25 cancellation fee per session, per participant (No refunds given week prior to camp unless medical). Camp consists of a structured day where the individual groups will have a schedule to fol- low with activities to include archery, arts & crafts, sports, nature, cooperative games, swimming and kayaking. *Parent/Guardian will be charged $5 for every 15 minutes late after 4:00p.m. There is a $20 per session non-resident fee. This program is designed for the student who are considering working with children. The program will provide valuable experience in the supervision of children, safety, first aid and overall operation of a camp. Each applicant will be interviewed and those selected will participate in this training program.
