Most of us have to adjust our business models to suit different economic climates. Whether
this is due to the recession, new competition in our area, or just shifting trends, we have
all realised that we cannot stand still to “stay in the game”. We have lost our beloved
Woolworths and even premium priced Debenhams is failing to survive in its present
structure. M&S, meanwhile, has found that the food sector is its saving grace. Customers
are choosing out of town retail parks to the traditional high street, with a record number of
1,234 chain stores being lost in Britain’s top 500 high streets in the first half of the year.

FORMER NATIONAL PRESIDENT SPRINGS
SURPRISE ON DISTRICT COUNCILLORS
