Overview of ‘1st Call for Decade Actions’ • First ‘Call for Decade Actions’ for two types of large- scale Actions: 1. Global or major regional programmes Open 15 October 2020 to 15 January 2021 2. Contributions including support to central or - with decisions in Q1 of 2021 - decentralised coordination functions • No geographic or thematic restrictions Online FAQ web page submission (updated • Suite of inter-related documentation to support ‘Call for forms x 2 regularly) Decade Actions’ • Two live Q&A sessions planned for applicants • UN entities registration process will be opened in Guidance Note Implementation parallel for Applicants Plan / Summary Call for Decade Actions More details will be made available on social media and www.oceandecade.org - sign-up to receive further updates! #OceanDecade #oceanandhumanhealth 36 36
Next steps & Key Milestones • September to December 2020: Negotiation of omnibus resolution by United Nations General Assembly including Implementation Plan • 15th October 2020: Launch of first “Call for Action” for Decade programmes and contributions • Early December 2020: High-level supporters event including pre-launch of the Ocean Decade Alliance (possibly in line with Our Ocean Conference) First call for action October, 15th 2020! • 1 January 2021: Decade starts • January – July 2021: Progressive roll-out of Stakeholder Engagement Sign-up on Mechanisms www.oceandecade.org to • March – April 2021: Decisions on first group of endorsed Decade Actions (programmes and contributions) be on the mailing list for updates. • 31 May – 2 June 2021: First International Ocean Decade Conference, Berlin • ?? 2021: 2021 UN Ocean Conference, Lisbon #OceanDecade #oceanandhumanhealth 37
