news PRODUCT RANGE Holden Rodeo / Isuzu D Max EGR Cooler GOSS’ latest release of re-engineered and improved EGR Coolers suits the Holden Colorado & Isuzu D-Max 4JJ1 engines. Part number: EC104 The EGR Cooler is a metal device that employs thin passages and fins/tubes to cool the exhaust gases. They function in much the same way as a radiator functions, by using the cool air passing through the fins to cool the exhaust gases as they flow through the cooler. If an EGR cooler fails, it can cause problems with the functionality of the EGR system. This can lead to performance issues and can also cause serious engine damage if the issue is not dealt with. Once again GOSS has seen an increasing number of OE 4JJ1 Diesel Engine EGR Cooler failures. This has prompted our engineers to investigate the cause of this issue and develop a solution to manufacture a high-quality aftermarket EGR Cooler and reduce the risk of failure. All GOSS EGR Coolers are heat and stress tested, pressure tested, and resonance tested to exceed OE specifications. Also as an added bonus ALL GOSS EGR Coolers are supplied with fitment gaskets and brackets (where applicable). To see the full range of GOSS EGR Coolers visit Goss.com.au. EC104 P2 IM NEWS APRIL 2020
PRODUCT RANGE Goss Vacuum hose – SAE Compliant It is crucial to the safe operation of the vehicle to use the correct hose and clamps specific to each application. The Goss Brake Vacuum hose is a good example of that. The Goss brake vacuum hose is compliant with SAE J1403 which is a requirement by law. This hose is for use on in Light Duty vehicle applications. It is resistant to heat, oil, grease, abrasion, weathering & ozone. The Goss brake vacuum hose is intended for use in the power braking systems of vehicles or as connections on vacuum lines of vehicles or systems thereof. Using a non-compliant hose or incorrect type such as J1402 9.5mm ID or 12.7mm ID hose in place of J1403 applications may damage the outer cover. As the prime function of the outer cover is to protect the internal reinforcement webbing from the environment. The internal reinforcement webbing can also be damaged and risk a vacuum leak in your braking system. Using a hose with incorrect specifications may also affect your roadworthiness and you can potentially risk a fine if applicable. Goss carries a J1403 compliant hose in various lengths ranging from 1 meter packs to 30 meter dispensers. Goss – Transmission Speed Sensors Transmission speed sensors are used to perform a contactless scan of a gear or trigger wheel in the transmission and generate an electronic digital signal proportional to the speed of rotation. There are commonly two speed sensors that work in conjunction to provide accurate transmission data to the vehicle’s (ECM) engine control module or (TCM) transmission control unit. Common symptoms of a faulty sensor include: Transmission speed sensors can malfunction for a number • Harsh or irregular shifting of reasons including: • Cruise control inoperative • Physical damage to the sensor • Check engine light illuminated • Poor connection between the connector plug and sensor • Speedometer inoperative • Corrosion • Electrical failure If you have discovered a faulty transmission speed sensor, the Goss range of aftermarket transmission speed sensors is now available and suits over 800 vehicle applications and 4 million vehicles on road. Offering the aftermarket a truly genuine alternative. Goss - Diesel MAP Sensor Compatible with Ford Territory SZ Diesel / Land Rover Discovery Diesel. The main function of the Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor, also known as MAP, is to calculate the pressure inside the Intake manifold. This data is then sent to the vehicle’s ECM which calculates this information to control the amount of fuel and timing required. Common symptoms of a faulty MAP include increased emissions, poor fuel economy and reduction in power. The part number in question is MP252 which is used in Ford Territory and Land Rover Discovery Duratorq diesel engines. As this is mounted in the Throttle Body assembly, in most cases this part is only sold with the complete Throttle Body from the dealer, at a cost of over $2000. Goss has now sourced an OE manufactured MAP sensor and is readily available separately saving you money. IM-GROUP.COM.AU P3

news TECHNICAL BULLETINS TOYOTA YARIS NCP90R CLUSTER - FUEL GAUGE STUCK ON FULL Customer complaint: Injectronics technicians have been made aware of a common issue with the Toyota Yaris. Customers have been reporting about the inaccuracy of the fuel gauge, with the most common complaint being that the gauge is showing between full to a quarter of a tank and the vehicle will run out of fuel. Another reported issue is that after refilling the fuel tank, the fuel gauge is very slow to respond. Affected Vehicles: • TOYOTA YARIS NCP90R (2005 /2011) • TOYOTA YARIS NCP91R (2005 /2011) • TOYOTA YARIS NCP93R (2006 /2017) Diagnosis: Workshops presented with these vehicles can confirm the customers fault by first testing the fuel sender unit for correct operation, using a multi meter measuring the resistance between terminal 2 and 1 of the J5 Fuel Sender Gauge Assembly connector plug as per the image below. Please refer to table for correct sender readings. If the fuel sender checks are okay, technicians are advised to then check the wiring for any faults. Disconnect the instrument cluster connector plug and measure the resistance between D1-3 (l) to J5-2 and J5-3 to Body Ground. Please refer to table for correct Specified Condition. FLOAT LEVEL FLOAT POSITION IN (MM) READING Tester connection SPECIFIED CONDITION Full 146.2 to 158.2 13.5 Ω to 16.5Ω D1-3 (l) to J5-2 Below 1Ω Half 76.4 to 88.4 195.3 Ω to 221.3Ω J5-3 to Body Ground Below 1Ω Empty 0 405.5 Ω to 414.5Ω Solution: Injectronics through extensive investigation of the Toyota Yaris NCP90R, NCP91R and NCP93R instrument clusters have identified several key areas affecting the fuel level operation. If the fuel sender and wiring checks confirm that the sender and wiring are okay and it is determined that the instrument cluster maybe at fault, the only option left for the customer would be to replace the instrument cluster with a genuine replacement from the dealer. Injectronics can offer a more cost effective solution to this problem, the instrument cluster can be removed and sent to Injectronics for testing and repair of the customers own unit.
