Foreword Dear Readers, Twenty-one million people pass through our train stations throughout Germany each day. As impressive a figure as that is, passenger numbers are set to increase considerably in the coming years. To accommodate the increase, we will need to expand capacity at stations and ensure a smooth transition between train transport, private modes of transport, public transport and new mobility options, such as carsharing and e-scooters. Urbanisation is setting new standards. We are responsible for making sure that passengers and visitors board and arrive safely and conveniently and that they enjoy the time spent at our stations. DB’s new Strong Rail strategy means that we’re focusing all of our efforts on our core business. We want to play a key role in decarbonising the transport sector and convince even more people to take the train instead of driving. As modern mobility hubs, stations are an important component of decarbonisation. They are the gateway to the rail system and the link connecting different modes in a single travel chain, whether travel is for business or pleasure. Making our guests feel welcome at our stations is important to us. That’s why the more than 6,000 employees of DB Station&Service AG work tirelessly on improving quality for passengers and visitors. And that means making sure our guests feel they’re in good hands with us when it comes to the small things and the not-so-small things. We’re excited to be working on new products and services, such as better information for passengers, bicycle parking and shopping options at stations. This brochure provides a general overview of the range of services offered by DB Station&Service AG. Have a look and join us on our journey.
