Students in the AEP will take AEP in place of Art, Design & Technology (D&T) and Food & Consumer Education (FCE) at the lower Secondary level.

• Students with a PSLE Score of 8 or better and offer MTL at

• PG consent form will be sent by 24 December 2021, 12pm
• Please return the completed form to the school by 31
  December 2021

• HML and HTL: Lessons at HMTL Centres (outside of
  curriculum time)
• HCL: Lessons in IJ (during curriculum time)
Mother Tongue ‘B’

Criteria:
• AL 7 or 8 in Standard MTL or
• AL B or C in Foundation MTL

• Lessons will be conducted at MTL ‘B’ Centres

Registration:
• The school will arrange for registration for students

Third Language

• Successful applicants will receive a PG notification by 24 Dec 2021

  please go to the MOE Language Centre website (moelc.moe.edu.sg)

Important:
• Registration for Zonal Centres and MOE Language Centres
  will be from Thursday 23 December 2021 to Thursday 6
  January 2022

• Places that are not taken up by Thursday 6 January 2022
  will be reallocated to other applicants

• Lesson commencement dates will depend on the timetable
  allocated to you. Please confirm the actual date at the
  respective MOE Language Centre or Zonal Centres during

MTL-in-lieu

• Students do not need to submit a re-application if they wish to
  continue with their private study arrangement.
• Students do not need to submit a re-application if they are
  offering Asian language as MTL-in-lieu (Arabic, Burmese or
  Thai).

MOELC Waiting List for students offering Foreign Language as
MTL-in-lieu
• Secondary One students may submit a re-application to offer
  foreign language as MTL-in-lieu (French, German or Japanese)
  and to be placed on the waiting list for admission into MOE
  Language Centre (MOELC).

MOELC Waiting List for students offering Foreign Language as
MTL-in-lieu

• As MOELC is a third language centre and priority is given to
  third language students, students will be notified through the
  school to sit for a readiness test should there be vacancies at
  the MOELC.

• Students who have not been notified by the school to sit for a
  readiness test or did not pass the test, are required to
  continue with private study.
Non-Tamil Indian Language as MTL-in-lieu

• Indian students who are non-Tamil speakers may apply to
  offer a Non-Tamil Indian Language (NTIL: Bengali, Gujarati,
  Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu).

• Students who have obtained approval at the primary level are
  not required to re-apply.

• It is compulsory for NTIL students to register as soon as
  possible upon approval at one of the approved NTIL
  community groups, attend NTIL lessons with these CGs and
  sit for examinations set by the Board for the Teaching and
  Testing of South Asian Languages.

WHY SUBJECT-BASED BANDING (SBB)?

- Every student is unique and possesses different strengths.

- Subject-Based Banding can:

    (a) nurture their strengths

    (b) Provide them more educational opportunities

    (c) Encourage them to be more engaged in learning

    (d) Allow them to build a stronger foundation in subjects that
      they are good at
WHAT ARE THE SELECTION CRITERIA FOR SBB?

 - Parents of eligible N(A) and N(T) students would have received an
 offer letter, via PG, based on the following criteria:

    to help them cope, e.g. bridging lessons will be
    conducted for all SBB inserts

- Entry into SBB at Secondary 1 does not automatically
  guarantee transition to higher-level subjects at
  Secondary 3.

- Child’s performance need to meet the school’s criteria at
  the end of Secondary 2 (subject combination criteria applies).
