Weekly Roundup 10/11/21 2018 February 7th – February 13th 2022 Franklin Police Department PO Gary Wallace – Community Resource Officer 1
Here is a list of notable events from the past week! Some incidents may have been omitted to preserve the integrity of an ongoing investigation or to protect a victim. Addresses are not specified in some cases, referred to instead by block. 02/07/2022 Operating Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated – 3rd Offense 3900 Blk W College Ave On Monday, 02/07/22, at 0459 hours, a subject out of Colorado was taken into custody for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated - 3rd offense. This occurred after Franklin Fire Department was dispatched for an unresponsive female sitting behind the wheel in a running vehicle. The subject later provided an evidentiary blood sample at Ascension Hospital, the results of which are not yet known. Her vehicle was towed from the scene and she was later turned over to a responsible party. Mutual Aid – Greenfield PD S 27th St/W Grange Ave FRPD officers assisted GFPD regarding multiple suspects that fled from a Catalytic Converter theft in the area of S 27th St/W Grange Ave. Officers assisted with perimeter and searching until released by GFPD Fire 5215 W Airways Ave - GA Precision At approximately 1010 hours, squads were dispatched to GA Precision products for the report of smoke inside of the building. Squads arrived to find that the rooftop air handling unit caught fire. No damage to the structure itself occurred. Prescription Fraud 7130 S 76th St - Walgreens On Monday, 02/07/22, at 2057 hours, at Walgreens, a subject out of Illinois was taken into custody for Prescription Fraud. This occurred after he provided Walgreens a fraudulent prescription in an attempt to obtain codeine. The subject was later turned over to County Jail. 2
02/08/2022 Operating Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated – 1st Offense S 76th St/W Brunn Dr On Tuesday, 02/08/22, at 0216 hours, a Franklin resident was taken into custody for Operating A Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated-1st Offense. He later provided an evidentiary breath sample which indicated that he had a Prohibited Alcohol Concentration of 0.12%. This occurred pursuant to a stop for a speed and stop sign violation. The subject was booked, cited, and released to a responsible party. Eluding / Theft (Felony) 7000 Blk S Ballpark Dr On Tuesday, 02/08/22, at approximately 0625 hours, a subject out of Milwaukee was taken into custody for Eluding pursuant to the investigation of a prowling complaint. The driver’s vehicle, which was wanted by numerous other jurisdictions for a series of thefts, was towed back to the station for processing. Follow up to continue. The subject was later turned over to County Jail. Motor Vehicle Theft 8361 S 27th St – Skyway Motel Victim called in to report that at approximately 0800 hours, his vehicle was taken without permission from the Skyway Motel. He gave the name of a suspect whom he had met the previous evening on Greenfield Ave in Milwaukee, stating she had taken the vehicle with keys. Warrant Arrest 5800 Blk W Franklin Dr On Tuesday, 02/08/22, at approximately 1115 hours, a subject was taken into custody for having a valid warrant with the Department of Corrections for a Probation Violation. The subject was turned over to the Milwaukee Secure Detention Facility. Retail Theft 7780 S Lovers Lane Rd – Pick N Save On 02/08/22, at 1054 hours, at Pick N Save, located at 7780 South Lovers Lane Road, 2 individuals concealed approximately $650.00 worth of alcohol on their person and attempted to leave the store without offering payment. Both subjects were identified from previous theft incidents. Follow up to continue. 3
02/09/2022 Warrant Arrest 6300 Blk S 27th St On Wednesday, 02/09/22, at 0156 hours, 2 residents of Franklin were taken into custody for having a valid warrant with our department for Battery. The subjects were released after signing a Personal Recognizance bond and were provided a new court date. Animal Complaint 6701 S 27th St - Walmart Employee contacted FRPD reporting a live opossum inside the store by the toy area. PO's corralled the opossum in a box and released it outside the store. Operating While Intoxicated-3rd Offense (Drugs) 6800 Blk W Ryan On Wednesday, 02/09/22, at 1800 hours, a subject out of Sturtevant was taken into custody for Operating A Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated-3rd offense and Possession of a Controlled Substance. This had occurred after a caller reported a vehicle drove off the roadway and into oncoming traffic multiple times. The driver later provided an evidentiary blood sample, the results of which are not known. The subject’s vehicle was towed. He was cited, booked, and released to a responsible third party after posting bail. Operating While Intoxicated-3rd Offense 10700 W Rawson Ave On Wednesday, 02/09/22, at 1928 hours, a subject was taken into custody for Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated – 3rd. This occurred after the driver and his vehicle were located off the roadway on W Rawson Ave. A blood sample was obtained, the results of which are not known at this time. The subject’s vehicle was towed and he was released to a responsible party after posting bail. 02/10/2022 Warrant Arrest 8200 Blk S 88th St On Thursday, 02/10/22, at 0810 hours, a resident of Franklin, was taken into custody on a Department of Criminal Investigations warrant. After being transported to FRPD booking on behalf of DCI, FRPD officers transported the subject to County Jail. 4
Theft 10100 Blk S Ryan Creek Ct Victim reports unknown actor(s) cut brackets off of his trailer and took various construction equipment from it without permission. Value of equipment is approximately $11,800.00. Disorderly Conduct/ Battery/ Warrant 6701 S 27th St - Walmart On Thursday, 02/10/22, at approximately 2230 hours, a subject was taken into custody for having a warrant with the Franklin Police Department for Mistreatment of Animal. Subject was released after signing a PR bond and receiving a new court date. The warrant was discovered after the subject reported being attacked (Battery/Disorderly) inside of Walmart by a known subject. Operating After Revocation - Misdemeanor 2600 Blk Rawson On Thursday, 02/10/22, at 1833 hours, a subject out of Milwaukee was taken into custody for Operating After Revocation – OWI related. This occurred pursuant to a traffic stop for a registration violation. The vehicle was towed from the scene. The driver was booked, cited, and released. 02/11/2022 Criminal Damage to Property 7200 Blk S Cambridge Dr Victim reports that sometime between 2000 hours on 02/10/2022 and 0400 hours on 02/11/2022, unknown actor(s) broke 4 windows on his vehicle while it was parked in the driveway at his residence. FRAUD 11300 Blk W Bel Mar Drive Victim reporting fraudulent purchase made using her information. Unknown party purchased a computer in her name, using her credit card. Over $2,000 was charged. Death Investigation 11400 Blk W Swiss Street On Friday, 02/11/22, the Franklin Police Department assisted the Medical Examiner’s Office with a death investigation involving a 34 year old subject. 5
Warrant Arrest 8000 Blk S 27th Street On Friday, 02/11/22, at approximately 2241 hours, a Franklin resident was taken into custody on an Oak Creek PD warrant for non-registration of auto. Subject signed a PR bond and was released with a citation for non-registration of auto. 02/12/2022 Obstructing/Warrant S 27th St/W College Ave On Friday, 02/11/22, at 2311 hours, a subject out of Milwaukee was cited for Operating After Suspension pursuant to a traffic stop. He was also served his copy of his Injunction Order stemming from a Domestic Violence incident in Milwaukee. A passenger in the vehicle was taken into custody for a Felony Probation Violation. A second passenger, out of Milwaukee, was taken into custody for Obstructing an Officer and for having two valid warrants with the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office (Robbery/Theft of Auto and Flee/Elude Officer). The warrant holders were turned over to MCSO. Battery 10700 Blk S 27th St Victim reported that on Saturday, 02/12/22, at approximately 0140 hours, a known subject repeatedly punched her in the face while sitting in the parking lot of On the Border Gentlemen's Club. A Temporary warrant has been issued for the subject for Misdemeanor Battery. Death Investigation 8600 Blk S 116th St On Saturday 02/12/22 at 1121 hours, FRPD assisted the Medical Examiners Office with a death investigation involving a 75 year old Franklin Resident. Fire 11400 Blk W Swiss St FRPD responded to the Swiss Street Pub to the report of a vehicle on fire. FFD extinguished the fire. 6
Motor Vehicle Theft 6600 Blk S 46th St At approximately 1430 hours, victim called to report that his 2020 Ford Explorer, was stolen from his garage. This occurred at approximately 1400 hours. The keys had been left in the vehicle. Suspects caused minor damage to another vehicle in the garage during the theft. At 1751 hours, the Explorer was recovered in the City of Milwaukee and later returned to the owner. Suspicious Activity 7009 S 27th Street - Deadstock At approximately 2045 hours, business owner contacted FRPD reporting he observed on camera two masked/hooded males looking in the windows of several closed businesses. Subjects were not located by FRPD Officers. 02/13/2022 Prowling S 68th St/W Pineberry Ridge FRPD was alerted to several individuals attempting to enter/steal vehicles in the neighborhood and responded to the area. They did not locate the suspect vehicle, a dark Ford Explorer. A vehicle matching the description was observed in Oak Creek shortly after, traveling at a high rate of speed. Battery - Domestic Violence 4200 Blk W Carmel Dr On Sunday, 02/13/22, at 0131 hours, a subject out of Milwaukee was taken into custody for Domestic Violence- Battery. This occurred at 0058 hours, after he hit and pushed his girlfriend. The subject was booked and released after posting bail. The matter was referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office for charging. Possession of Controlled Substance- THC/Obstructing/ Curfew Violation/Operate Without a License S 27th St/W Forest Hill Ave On Sunday, 02/13/22, at 0322 hours, a subject out of Milwaukee was taken into custody for Obstructing, Possession of Marijuana, and Curfew Violation. He was also cited for OWL. This was pursuant to a traffic stop. 7
Retail Theft/Eluding/Bail Jumping 5200 W Rawson Ave - Sendik's On 02/13/22, at 1024 hours, a known subject concealed $205.96 worth of alcohol on his person and passed the last point of purchase without rendering payment. The subject fled the scene in a stolen car and led Officers on a pursuit. The pursuit was terminated. Charges for Misdemeanor Retail Theft and Bail Jumping will be referred to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office. Operating Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated- 3rd Offense W Loomis Rd/W St Martins Rd On Sunday, 02/13/22, at 2013 hours, a subject out of Greendale was taken into custody for Operating A Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated-3rd offense pursuant to a stop for Reckless Driving. The subject later refused to provide an evidentiary breath sample and a warrant for a blood draw was obtained. The result of the blood test is not yet known. The vehicle was towed from the scene and the driver was released to a responsible party after posting bail. Fleeing / Eluding 7100 Blk W Woodbury Drive On Sunday, 02/13/22, at 2156 hours, a victim reported an unknown actor attempted to enter her locked vehicle in her driveway. The suspect vehicle was located nearby which then fled from police. The vehicle was listed as stolen. Officers terminated the pursuit due to speed. Follow up to continue. That’s all for now, folks.
