New Green Waste Bin in Claremont From January 2020, the Town of Claremont will introduce a green waste bin for eligible properties. Properties greater than 400m2 will automatically be given a third, 240L lime-lidded green waste bin. Other properties can opt-in for the service via an online request form that will be located on the Town’s website from September 2019. Strata-managed multiple dwelling sites will be contacted independently to discuss green waste requirements and how the service can benefit them. More information will be provided through the rest of this year as the Town transitions to this new waste management system. What can be placed in the Greens Bin? What must NOT be placed in the Greens Bin? • Grass clippings • Glass, metal, plastic, paper, chemicals, oil • Plants and weeds • Organic food waste • Small branches and prunings • Batteries, phones, e-waste, light globes • Twigs, bark and leaves • Anything that should go in the general bin • Cut flowers • Anything that can go in the recycling bin 4
