Rogers wrote that, “what is most personal is most universal.” VISITING MR. GREEN examines the personal stories of two very different men with very similar experiences. What is most beautiful about Jeff Baron’s expertly crafted play is that within these deeply personal stories are universal truths about humanity. We all have the same needs and desires as Mr. Green and Ross Gardiner. We all need to connect, we all need respect, and most importantly, we all need love. In exploring this script throughout this process I’ve been deeply moved by the power and importance of human connection presented in this play. Collectively, we have experienced over eighteen months where making a human connection, especially with a stranger, has been both difficult and potentially dangerous. My hope is that as you witness tonight’s performance, you too, will be reminded of how incredibly important human connection truly is. — Nathan Stith SPECIAL THANKS Bob and Cora May Howe for their years of support.
