It feels like a puzzle. It’s satisfying to think about how the gene is supposed to affect the cell — then test it and find out. You’re aiming for a career in synthetic biology research. How prepared do you feel? Because I got to do research as an undergrad, I’m really comfortable with what I’m doing and I’m confident in my knowledge. 15

UAV stands for unmanned aerial vehicle. I wanted to give students the chance to work on drone technology. How would you describe the experience? Everybody helps each other and there are so many opportunities to work together. You want to enjoy these four years of your life and that vibe is important. 18

I was already aware of the Aboriginal Student Resource Centre, so I knew I would have support on campus. I’d heard that people are very welcoming and social and I’ve found that to be true. How important has it been for you to connect with other Indigenous students on campus? It helps me incredibly. I can just stop by for a snack, talk to people, use the resources there, and study there. I’m connected to a bunch of people now that I never would have met otherwise, because we’re all in different programs. 19

How did you find yourself joining the Stingers? I chose Concordia for my academic program, and then I contacted the head coach to say that I’d like to play. What’s it been like to balance school with playing rugby at an international level? Concordia offers a very supportive environment — the athletics staff are so helpful — and that has really helped to diminish the stress athletes and students face. 22

MINIMUM ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS The following are the minimum qualifications required and do not guarantee admission. Certain programs require additional material such as a letter of intent or a portfolio, or the completion of appropriate mathematics and science courses. For most programs in the Faculty of Fine Arts, admission is based on meet- ing the minimum admission standards, plus a strong portfolio or audition/interview. Find detailed requirements for your program at concordia.ca/programs. For the winter term, admission requirements may be higher due to a smaller intake of students. You must complete a two-year, pre-university program or a three-year professional DEC (Diplôme d'études collégiales). CRC Quebec minimum requirements for admission vary between 19.000 and 30.000; however, based on availability, students below this average may be considered. Alberta / Northwest High school diploma with a minimum of five academic Grade 12 courses, numbered 30 or 31, one of which must be English Territories / Nunavut Language Arts 30-1. Also acceptable: Math 30-2 and one 35-level course, provided it is a five-credit course. British Columbia / High school diploma with a minimum of four approved Grade 12 academic subjects, one of which must be English 12. Yukon High school diploma with a minimum of five academic Grade 12 40S courses, one of which must be an ELA Focus 40S. Manitoba Note: Essential Math 40S is not acceptable as one of the five courses. High school diploma with a minimum of five appropriate Grade 12 academic courses, numbered 120, 121 or 122, one of which New Brunswick must be English 121 or 122 (French 121 or 122, if attending a French secondary school).
