01 Junior Youth Conference IEN NF CO C E ST H RE NGT Junior Youth Conference (JYC) is a 3-day camp for 5th June 9-11, 2022 and 6th grade* youth to participate in fun workshops, enjoy activities with youth their age, and have great Logan, Utah learning experiences on the Utah State University campus. With 4-H teens serving as mentors, 4-Hers $160 improve self-esteem, strengthen involvement and interest in 4-H, and have opportunities to meet youth from Register Here throughout the state. 02 i4-H ES I GN D T G H INKIN i4-H is a camp for 7th and 8th graders* who spend June 16-18, 2022 3 days at the USU Eastern campus in Price. The members participate in team building workshops taught by the 4-H State Ambassadors, swim in the Logan, Utah wave pool, climb the indoor rock wall, plus many other adventures. $160 Our events are planned by Design Teams. They work together to plan and carry out workshops, Register Here chaperone youth, and act as mentors during i4-H. Don't miss out on this amazing opportunity this summer! 03 Cowboy Camp DERS A H LE IP BE G L ON GIN Are you ready for a summer adventure in the June 20-22, 2022 country! Nestled in the valley just south of Bear Lake, join us Rich County at Dot Bar Ranch for Cowboy Camp. Come and get a taste for the western lifestyle; from horseback Intermediate Age riding to learning how to shoot a bow and arrow. You won’t want to miss out! Youth (11-13) Youth will get to tour a local cattle ranch, learn $85 more about where their food comes from, and taste some homegrown beef. The campers will also get to spend time at the Bridgerland Adventure Park, ride Register Here horses (optional), try their hand at archery, study the night sky, and learn leadership skills through various workshops. 04 Mustang Camp ERVA S T CON ION LA ND USU Extension and Utah 4-H is thrilled to be offering June 23-24, 2022 the first of its kind, Mustang Camp! Many youth in Utah are not familiar with wild horses. This overnight camp & will provide youth across the state the opportunity to July 28-29, 2022 learn about the federal entities dedicated to managing public lands, rangelands, wild horses, burros, and the Intermediate and relationship between healthy lands and healthy horses. The unique symbolism surrounding wild horses and Senior Youth burros makes management a unique problem, and is (grades 6 – 12) why education is crucial for implementing effective management solutions. Research has shown that Register Here providing educational opportunities outside of the classroom is an effective way of cultivating personal interest and conservation stewardship in youth. Our hope is that this camp is a step towards understanding and appreciating the uniqueness of our wild horses and burros. Questions? 05 4- H Classic I NG RN LEA BY D OING Come join us for the Annual 4-H Classic, June 27-29 June 27-29, 2022 2022, in Utah County! We will have volunteer and youth workshops to provide club meeting ideas on: Family Consumer Science, STEM, Civic Engagement, $30 Leadership, Horse & Livestock, and Career Readiness. There are 40+ workshops to choose from. In addition Utah County to workshops, there will be 20 state contests happening related to Family Consumer Science, Public Junior, Speaking, Horse & Livestock, and STEM. 06 Teen Summer Summit DERS A H LE IP CO E C N FIDEN Teen Summit is the Premiere Youth Leadership July 11-13, 2022 Training Conference, hosted by Utah 4-H, for youth in 8th – 12th grade who are interested in developing meaningful leadership skills. This event will provide Logan, Utah experiences that build personal and teamwork skills that enable teens to do more. We believe strongly that Grades 8 – 12 not only are we building the leaders of tomorrow, we are empowering them to be leaders of today. Through workshops, team building experiences, social Register Here networking and a collaborative exchange of ideas, this conference will empower teens to see their ability to effect change now and in the future, preparing them for the challenges they face today and tomorrow. 08 STEM AT RE E C CO Y TL N FIDEN State 4-H Game Design Kick Off & Challenge | June 3, 6pm Cost: FREE Create an original board game with 4-H! This state 4-H challenge is ran in iterations and completed independently. Get all the info and enjoy an evening of fun as we kick off the challenge with board game fun and tell you all about the challenge. You can sign up for both the challenge and the kick off in Zsuite. Weekly STEM Activities We are excited to offer regular Summer STEM activities at the following locations throughout the Summer. Activities are being planned at the following locations: Salem Library Mapleton Main Library Bookmobile sites in Utah County Orem 4-H/Extension Office STEM Camp | June 14-16 10am -12pm Cost: $35 4-H Office, Orem Get hands-on and creative with fun and engaging STEM activities. Led by 4-H STEM Facilitators Amara & Joseph, you will be learning all about various STEM concepts. Ideal for youth ages 6-10 years of age. STEM Camp | August 9-11 10am -12pm Cost: $35 4-H Office, Orem Hosted by our county STEM Ambassadors, Junior and Intermediate youth will engage in 2-days of hands on activities designed to develop design and creative thinking skills all while gaining new knowledge. Ideal for youth 8-13 years of age.
09 Utah County Fair I NG RN LEA BY D OING The Utah County Fair is the ultimate showcase opportunity for youth in the 4-H program. Participants have the opportunity to exhibit projects ranging from 3D Printing to Cooking to Creative Writing. 4-H youth can also participate in the Utah Junior Livestock Association Fair Show or the 4-H Chicken & Rabbits show. Deadlines and ownership requirements apply to all animal events.
