Prayer and Reflection APOSTLESHIP OF PRAYER, ST. JOSAPHAT CATHEDRAL, EDMONTON AGE: All ages. DESCRIPTION: Members recite daily the Prayer of Surrender, the Morning Offering, and the Consecration to Mary. Also, members receive a weekly email with a list of intentions. One “Our Father,” “Rejoice, Mother of God,” and “Glory be” is offered for all prayer requests, and all intentions are remembered at daily Divine Liturgy. Members are encouraged to approach Confession on a monthly basis and to receive Holy Communion on Sundays, Feast Days, and first Fridays or Saturdays of each month. DATES & TIMES: No meetings. Children and Youth — Sunday Programs PRESCHOOL PROGRAM, ST. JOSAPHAT CATHEDRAL, EDMONTON AGE: Preschool children, age 3 to 6. DESCRIPTION: Due to the current crisis, the program has been suspended. On-line resources are being made available to parents directly by catechists and via our website. Parents will be notified once it is safe to resume in-person classes. During the session, the Mysteries of Baptism, Chrismation and Eucha- rist are explained. Also, an explanation of the baptismal services is provided. Various materials are recommended to parents, who as the prime catechists, are responsible for raising their children in the Christian faith. DESCRIPTION: An opportunity for boys to serve at the altar, learn about the Divine Liturgy and build community through fun monthly activities! Youth Groups and Activities ST. SOPHIA’S YOUTH AGE: 9-14 DESCRIPTION: A group that aims to extend learning beyond children’s Sunday school to provide younger youth with a place to ask questions and learn about the faith. This group will allow for children to create lasting friendships within the church while making deeper connections with their church. DATES & TIMES: Start date TBD. Once a month on Sunday after liturgy with additional dates for external activities to be announced throughout the year. Refer to the Church bulletin for meeting dates and times. LOCATION: Monthly meetings will take place online, via google meets, with potential use of the church’s multipurpose room in future. UKRAINIAN CHOIR, ST. GEORGE'S CHURCH, EDMONTON AGE: Adult, Young adult DESCRIPTION: Directed by Irena Tarnawsky, the choir sings twice a month at the Sunday 9:30am. Divine Liturgy. Occasionally, we sing the Noon Liturgy. The choir organizes Goodwill performances for Christmas, and other occasions. New members are encouraged to join! Due to the pandemic, and following Bishop David's directions, all rehearsals and choir singing have been suspended until further notice. Choir members will be notified when rehearsals resume.
