WELCOME FROM THE STUTZ ARTISTS ASSOCIATION We welcome you to our 25th Anniversary Raymond James Stutz Artists Open House. Your support allows us to celebrate our silver anniversary and our Artists Residency program. We appreciate you, Stutz businesses and all local art supporters. Thank You! Please explore our Stutz and know your support is helping future emerging artists. Have fun, meet our amazing talented artists and find art to take home. We look forward to seeing you at our future events. — Faith Blackwell & Laura LaForge, Co-Presidents, Stutz Artists Association FROM THE DESK OF TURNER WOODARD WOW, what a remarkable milestone it is to celebrate 25 years of anything these days, but it’s super special when it involves enriching people’s lives with local art and technology and sharing the creative energy that thrives each and every day at the Stutz Business & Arts Center! I want to personally welcome you to the 25th Annual Raymond James Stutz Artists Open House. From the beginning and every year after could not have been possible without the financial support our generous sponsors and equally important are the thousands of hours of human capital put fourth by our dedicated volunteers, artists and vendors! I’d especially like to thank my loyal Stutz Management team who work above and beyond to make this event the best weekend of every year! Cheers, I can’t thank everyone enough! I have a special request this year. When you enter the Stutz Factory, RELAX and enjoy the energy. Make this visit a special time and take your time to tour as many studios as you wish, to see and experience the passion, of each individual artist to their craft and gain a new insight for what they do. And most importantly, support our local arts community by purchasing from a local artist, so you can share that silent energy with anyone who enters your home or office. It’s a magnificent way to express joy and happiness! The Stutz Factory is truly a special place filled with extraordinary people, businesses and artists! Welcome! — Turner Woodard, Stutz Owner, Artist, Entrepreneur FROM OUR SPONSOR, RAYMOND JAMES® On behalf of our many financial advisors and associates in the Indianapolis community, Raymond James is honored to once again serve as the title sponsor of the 25th Annual Stutz Artists Open House. At Raymond James, we believe that just as important as bringing thoughtful financial planning and investment advice to individuals, corporations and municipalities is our commitment to give back to the communities in which we live and work. This sponsorship in recognition of the arts began in 2010, but Raymond James’ commitment to our communities, and specifically to the arts, extends throughout the history of our firm. You can learn more about the firm’s commitment to the community on www.raymondjames.com/community. I am proud to support the Stutz Artists Open House through this event and thank you for joining us as we embrace art and the artists who create it, and to be part of this growing art event in Indianapolis. I hope you enjoy the open house! —T ash Elwyn, President, Raymond James & Associates, Member New York Stock Exchange/SIPC 2

Initially the entire Stutz complex was offered for sale. With no buyers, it was parceled out to L.S. Ayres and Eli Lilly & Company. Lilly purchased Ayres’ part and operated Creative Packaging until 1981. After that, the Stutz became home to the Downtown Indianapolis Industrial Mall where it offered shared services to businesses. By the late 1980s the DIIM was struggling and by 1992 the buildings were being considered for demolition. Reid Williamson, then-president of Historic Landmarks Foundation of Indiana, invited board member and entrepreneur Turner Woodard to walk through the building. Knowing Woodard’s passion for cars and history, Williamson knew he’d be intrigued. Woodard says, “And I was. But it wasn’t just the long vacant Stutz Building’s legacy that got my attention; it was also its potential. Wandering the cavernous structure, I saw a place where art and commerce could meet.” In the fall of 1992 Woodard purchased and began renovating the complex, paying homage to the factory’s glory days in his vision for the future. INSPIRE. In a word, we believe in the transformative power of the arts. Perhaps the most meaningful thing you can do with success is share it. And when you do that with care and conviction, giving can be an art form – one Raymond James has been practicing since 1962. Today, we carry on the charitable legacy of our founder Bob James in words and actions as we seek to go forward by giving back. LIFE WELL PLANNED.
