Grant Courville Vice President, Product Management and Strategy Blackberry’s QNX Software Systems Grant Courville is responsible for managing QNX’s global product portfolio and strategy for the automotive and general embedded markets. Mr. Courville has over 25 years of experience in the embedded industry and is a recognized leader and spokesperson for connected and autonomous car technology and trends. In his 20+ years with QNX, he has held a variety of leadership roles in engineering, marketing and strategy. SPEAKERS He also serves as a member of the Advisory Board for the Ontario Centres of Excellence, Autonomous Vehicle Innovation Network (OCE AVIN).
SPEAKERS Alexandre Vallières Co-Founder and Vice President AIworx (Artificial Intelligence at Work) Holder of a Master’s degree in physics and an MBA, Alexandre Vallières cumulates more than 15 years of experience in project management and systems engineering and has participated in the development and commercialization of numerous high-tech products. Mr. Vallières co-founded AIworx in 2011 and is now the Vice President of this AI service firm. His expertise and creativity are integrated in the team effort to generate novel and ground-breaking artificial intelligence solutions for the industrial and defence markets.
Chris Blanchette Executive Director, Global Accounts FANUC America Corporation Chris Blanchette is responsible for large assembly and aerospace accounts, Mr. Blanchette has worked at FANUC America Corporation for more than 12 years and has been involved with robotic automation in assembly processes for over 25 years, and aerospace specific processes for over 15 years. He has worked at various system integrator companies, robot manufacturers and metrology companies in a development, sales, and management role over the course of his career. SPEAKERS He has vast experience in intelligent based robotic manufacturing using vision, force sensing and other adaptive processes for use in a variety of markets including aerospace, automotive, auto components, micro-electronics, medical device, semiconductor, and consumer electronics manufacturing.
SPEAKERS Dr. Peter Frise, FCAE, FEC, P.Eng. Professor of Mechanical & Automotive Engineering University of Windsor Director Centre for Automotive Research & Education Professor of Mechanical & Automotive Engineering at the University of Windsor, Dr. Frise holds degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Queen’s and Carleton and worked in the petroleum industry in West Africa and manufacturing in Canada and the U.S. He founded Canada’s first university Automotive Engineering program in 1998 at Windsor while serving as Chrysler Canada/ NSERC Sr. Industrial Research Chair in Mechanical Design. In 2000, he was elected to lead AUTO21 which became Canada’s largest research network. Between 2001-15, AUTO21 did more than $150M worth of applied R&D for the auto industry and helped to train more than 2,500 students at 48 Canadian universities.
Flavio Volpe President, APMA Flavio Volpe is a champion of Canada’s globally relevant automotive sector and is dedicated to the growth of Canada’s automotive innovation, the development of new markets and the leveraging of its international leadership. Representing the interests of suppliers at home and abroad, he proudly leads the Automotive Parts Manufacturers’ Association (APMA) - Canada’s national association representing OEM producers of parts, equipment, tools, supplies and services for the worldwide automotive industry. Flavio speaks regularly on behalf of industry interests, SPEAKERS opportunities and challenges in Canada and abroad and is a sought-after voice by leading global publications including The Economist, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, BBC and CGTN. Flavio was recognized as Industry Leader of the Year by Automotive News Canada for 2017. Flavio holds a Master’s in Business Administration from the Schulich School of Business at York University and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of Toronto.
