Weekend in Southend-on-Sea, where you can make the most of the event with our pre-tour to Essex and post-tour to
Constable Country.
For those who fancy venturing a little further, we have a number of exciting international trips designed exclusively for
members of the Trefoil Guild. Explore the rural scenes of the Black Forest, the lively festivities of the Tenerife Carnival 2021 and

Day 2

Ongar where you can experience the beautifully restored Epping Ongar
Railway system. Disembark and enjoy the rest of your day, stopping at the
oldest wooden church in the world, Greensted Church, and North Weald
Airfield Museum. Finish with an evening meal at your hotel.
Day 3
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before heading to the Royal Gunpowder Mills
for a look at the fascinating history of gunpowder. In the afternoon you’ll
have the chance for a guided tour of Hatfield House, before enjoying the
gardens and grounds at your own leisure. Finish with an evening meal at
your hotel.
Day 4
Following breakfast at your hotel, enjoy a morning at leisure and then
depart by coach to Southend for the Annual Meeting.

The 2020 Trefoil Guild Annual Meeting is heading to sunny Southend-on-Sea, held at the Cliffs Pavilion.
We’re offering a three-night weekend break at a choice of quality hotels in Southend-on-Sea, letting you
make the most of the Annual Meeting with evening entertainment and local excursions.
With our Venture Abroad Representatives on-hand throughout the weekend, you’re free to enjoy your
time with old friends and new without worrying about the logistics. Fill your time before and after the
Annual Meeting by strolling along the sandy beach, walking down the longest pier in the world and
treating yourself to some of Southend’s famous ice cream at a seaside café.

Day 1
If you’re travelling to Southend by train, a Venture
Abroad Representative will meet you at the station
and you’ll be taken to your hotel on one of our coach
transfers. Check into your hotel of choice, where
the Venture Abroad Representatives will be based
throughout the weekend to ensure your stay runs
smoothly. Enjoy time to relax with an evening meal
(included in the package price).
Day 2
Following breakfast at your hotel, enjoy a morning
at leisure walking along the beach or exploring the
nearby sights. The Annual Meeting will take place in
the afternoon.
Day 3
On Sunday, there will be a range of optional day
excursions that you can book onto prior to the
Annual Meeting Weekend. They’ll give you the
opportunity to discover the history of Southend-on-
Sea and enjoy some of the most beautiful points
of interest in and around the area. To round off
the weekend, why not join your fellow Trefoil Guild
friends for an evening of entertainment organised by
the Venture Abroad team?
