50 Years of Firsts Stanford Travel/Study started in 1968 with a single cruise along the Rhine River. Throughout our history we have been known for “firsts”— one of the first non-diplomatic missions to enter China in 1978, the first alumni group to visit Saudi Arabia and Libya, and the first to reach the North Pole in 1992, where only a tiny cadre of scientists and world explorers had gone before. In honor of our groundbreaking history and in celebration and commemoration of our 50th anniversary, Stanford Travel/Study is headed for another “first.” We will be the first alumni travel group to visit the magnetic and geographic South Pole in January of 2019. Join us on a journey of a lifetime. https://southpoleexpedition.stanford.edu S T A N F O R D T R A V E L / S T U D Y | 6 5 0 . 7 2 5 . 1 0 9 3 | A L U M N I . S T A N F O R D .
