Prep for Online Tests
• Practice really does help
• Take tests in a suitable environment e.g. no disturbances,
  power, Wi-Fi, etc
• Have resources to hand paper & pen, calculator, water, etc.
• Follow instructions carefully
• Avoid wild guesses – work carefully & steadily
• Plan when to take tests e.g. don’t procrastinate, morning
  person vs. night owl, etc
• Let us know ASAP if any reasonable adjustments are
  needed

• KEEP CALM!!!
• Get stuck in

Step 1: Online tests
• Mix: Situational, numerical, verbal and logical

-Within Course: a ‘Careers’ Module

-Answer honestly (particularly for situational qs)
Step 2: Face to Face Interview
  Useful support:
1.Mock interviews:
-Specific for this application
-Focus on STARS technique
-Feedback
2. Advice for students:
-Values- based: why NHS, this scheme, this stream
-Review Healthcare Leadership Model
-Identify key areas and think of examples
-Follow NHS and Scheme media: Snapchat, Twitter, BBC News etc.
Step 3: Assessment Centre
• Mix of interactive tasks
• Included a 2 minute presentation
 Useful Support:
 1.Mock Assessment Centre:
 -Focus on group work + ‘In-tray’ exercises

 2. Advice for students:
 -Presentation practice- speed, timing and ‘value’
 -Listen to others, work as a team
Step 4: Beginning the Scheme
• Slightly scary (but exciting!)

   orientation:
