Training Prospectus Scotland & Northern Ireland January – June 2020 Transport & Logistics Modern Apprenticeships from the RHA In Scotland all apprenticeships are conducted under the Modern Apprenticeship program and are open to all employers wishing to hire new staff or use the framework to upgrade existing workers. The range and level of funding is broadly based on the level of the training and the age of your apprentice. This means that younger apprentices will gain more funding towards training than those aged over 25. It should be noted that the funding for MA’s is a contribution towards the training and that employers can enhance the training received to get more out of the experience. For the transport industry Modern Apprenticeships fall into several groups. These comprise many individual units, providing a flexible way of ensuring your apprentice can meet the standards, while at the same time shaping the training needs of your business. The RHA can deliver the Modern Apprenticeships needed to enable your business to recruit new talent or upskill the existing workforce. We will always supply some kind of direct training to all apprentices. We will be as unobtrusive as possible during the assessment process, using portfolios, meeting apprentices at the best time for them i.e. delivery sites or between shifts etc., to minimise the burden on your business. The process begins with a face-to-face meeting between the RHA, employer and apprentice to establish the correct level of qualification and decide on the best training plan.
