All plants entered should be in good condition, with damaged or old leaves and old blooms removed. Quilt Competition Section - Sewing: 22. Pillow case Hand Quilted General Conditions 23. Article of child’s clothing A. Quilts must solely be made and hand quilted by the exhibitor and exhibited and judged at a local Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies (OAAS) fair to be eligible for this competition. B. Quilts to be measured on the perimeter. Total perimeter measurement to be a minimum of 324 inches. Note the quilt can be 24. Any eco item - i.e. snack bag, bowl cover square, rectangular etc. ALL 4 sides must be measured to determine the perimeter measurement. 25. Any blanket C. Must have 3 layers (top, batting and back) and be quilted through all layers. Not mounted on a frame. D. Quilt may have a sleeve attached to the back for the purpose of hanging the quilt. 26. Article sewn from up-cycled fabric - must include list of re-used items E. The winner’s name and pattern to be displayed at the Fair on sign provided by OAAS. F. Judging will occur at local fairs and district levels. A Provincial Grand Champion Quilt will be selected at the Annual OAAS 27. Exhibitor’s choice Convention. G. Upon making an entry into the OAAS Hand-Quilted Quilt Competition, the Exhibitor agrees to participate in any promotional activities related to the competition. Prizes: Section 1-7: 1st - $10.00, 2nd - $8.00, 3rd - $6.00, H. The winning OAAS Hand-Quilted Quilt will not be eligible to compete in any future District and/or OAAS Provincial competi- tion. Section 8-27: 1st - $5.00, 2nd - $4.00, 3rd - $3.00 I. It is the quilter’s responsibility to give credit to the original designer of their quilt pattern based on copyright rules. Local Fair Competition 1. Each local fair is entitled to send only the Grand Champion Quilt, (min. 324” measured on the perimeter) judged the best of show of all Hand-Quilted Quilts to the District Competition. Local Homecraft Divisions are requested to judge a Grand Champion or Best of Show of all eligible hand quilts. As well as Reserve Grand Champion or SECOND Best of Show of all eligible Hand-Quilted Quilts. The Grand Champion and the Reserve Grand Champion are judged from all first and second prize eligible Hand-Quilted Quilts. Machine-Quilted Competition General Conditions A. Quilt must solely be made, and machine quilted by the exhibitor and exhibited and judged at a local Ontario Association of Agricultural Societies (OAAS) fair to be eligible for this competition. Note the quilt can be square, rectangular etc. ALL 4 sides must be measured to determine the perimeter measurement C. Must have 3 layers (top, batting and back) and be quilted through all layers. Not mounted on a frame. Entries must be made by the exhibitor and must not have been entered D. Quilt may have a sleeve attached to the back for the purpose of hanging the quilt. E.
