TELL US YOURS. Here is my Y story. Starting my journey 7 months ago, I was scared and in constant pain from neglect of myself and my responsibilities. Yet, being at the Lebanon YMCA has given me love and appreciation for the place and the amazing people in it. The daily activities such as fitness and socialization have instilled principles I use and will continue to use to achieve my goals and success. Starting my journey in 12/21 to now, I have lost about 90 pounds. I work out daily and continue with the aid of others to challenge myself and hold accountability strictly for myself. This process is a harsh realty from the dream that had kept me neglecting myself. Yet, I sit here writing of this experience in the present day to say it is worth it. My standards are unbreakable UNLESS I break them. My accountability for myself is there. There is no human being that I have personally met that can reach my goals for me. If I had not been a member of the YMCA, I do not think any of this would have been possible. Despite these things and achievements, I am human. Anyone can accomplish goals like mine, it just takes effort, practice, sustainability, and knowledge. I have lost 90 pounds from a starting weight of 315. I cannot and will not eat from fast food places unless out socially. I stay in my own lane and work as hard as I can. I adopt sacrificial mindsets for growth, and constantly go through hardships that benefit myself and ultimately my loved ones. 19
