Charlotte Field (Charlize Theron) is one of the most influential women in the world. The two have nothing in common, except that she was his babysitter and childhood crush. The White Crow (6/14-20) Ralph Fiennes' The White Crow was inspired by the book Rudolf Nureyev: The Life by Julie Kavanaugh. The drama charts the iconic dancer's famed defection from the Soviet Union to the West in 1961, despite KGB efforts to stop him. Classic Film Series: Whatever Happened to Baby Jane (6/16). Mifflinburg June 21-30: Guys and Dolls at the Community Theatre League Nathan Detroit runs the biggest craps game in New York City, while the authorities breathe down his neck and Adelaide, his fiancée of fourteen years, wonders when they’ll take the next step. When Nathan sets up fellow gambler Sky Masterson with the impossible task of winning over the straight-laced missionary Sarah Brown, the adventure takes off. From Times Square to Havana, to the sewers of New York, everyone eventually ends up right where they belong. www.CTLShows.com Williamsport June 22: Sounds of the Susquehanna Drum and Bugle Corps Competition Get ready for a beautiful early summer evening of wonderful family entertainment with the Sounds on the Susquehanna with some of the world's top drum and bugle corps in competition, as well as alumni corps in exhibition The Sounds on the Susquehanna competition will be the Drum Corps Associates season opener, featuring world class drum corps. Held at the Milton Area High School Alumni Stadium at 7:00 PM. Artistic expressions of mistakes, whether the art is a mistake or about mistakes, this exhibit will empower us to explore our reflections, our skills, and our self-awareness." Housed in a converted 19th century bank, Milton Art Bank (MAB) is an artist-run experiment and space for creative inquiry. Allenwood HISTORY & HERITAGE June 13: Coffee Hour Lecture: Needlework Samplers Museum Director, Gary Parks will present a lecture which coincides with the Taber summer exhibit, entitled “Make Much of Precious Time While in your Power”: European and American Needlework Samplers. The exhibit features seventy-seven samplers drawn from the collections of the Lycoming County and Jersey Shore Historical Societies, as well as several private collections. Select Lewisburg or Mifflinburg during registration and come ready to RUN for your BURG! The race will kick-off at 6:00 PM in both Lewisburg & Mifflinburg — runners will race approximately 3 miles to Ard’s Farm for the post-run, all you can eat, BBQ Buffet. Come ready to represent your ‘burg and enjoy a great after party with LIVE music and beer samplings from Rusty Rail Brewing Company. The ‘Burg with the most finishers under 42 minutes will win bragging rights and will get their side’s name on the official Battle of the ‘Burgs Plaque hung at Ard’s Farm Market! Lewisburg & Mifflinburg June 15: Summer Fest at R. B. Winter State Park 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM Celebrate the upcoming summer season by getting outdoors and trying some summer "adventures!" Learn about and see some of the beauty of the park up close. Special activities and crafts for children will be available plus guest appearances by live animals. Local vendors, outdoor recreation and environmental organizations will have displays and activities. A food concession will be open. This is a great event for families, and scout & youth organizations. You can get a complete agenda at the Halfway Run Environmental Learning Center on the day of the event. R. B. The Veterans Memorial Pool in McClure is one of the few filtered pools in the state operated without charge to swimmers. The pool operates through the generosity of the citizens in the area. There is a diving board, sliding board and rain tree. A concession stand is available. Swimming Lessons will be offered- Applications will be available at the concession stand (Scholarships and free transportation are available).
