YPN is teaming with Defenders for Children to rally to raise
money for law enforcement to obtain another Electronic Detection
K-9 like Queue. There is still time to become a Taskforce Member and Raise Funds

January is National Radon Action Month
January is National Radon Action Month, and the S.C. Department of Health and
Environmental Control (DHEC) is encouraging South Carolinians to become familiar
with the risks of radon when it’s present inside homes.
Radon is a naturally occurring, invisible, odorless, tasteless gas that is dispersed in outdoor air, but
which can reach harmful levels when trapped in buildings.
“Elevated levels of radon have been found in homes in almost every county of South Carolina. Two
homes right next to each other can have different radon levels,” said Rhonda Thompson, Bureau of Air
Quality Chief. “The only way to know if a home has high radon levels is to test.”

Paragon Maintenance
We will be performing our regular monthly, “system-wide” infrastructure, maintenance
from 12:00 AM-6:00 AM Central Time on Wednesday, January 27, 2021.
This includes Paragon, Mobile, Paragon Connect, PXL, RETS, and BKFS Hosted
LAMPS Products.
All Data Share, Parallel, and Membership Import tasks will be disabled and re-enabled at
the conclusion of the maintenance event, resulting in delayed data import/export
availability.
Websites that directly rely on Paragon Data, such as photos, may be affected.

MLS Rule changes went into effect Friday, January 1, 2021
Section 1.1.2 – Agent of Record - Listing Agent:
A listing delivered to the MLS must indicate the listing agent #1 name that appears on the
listing agreement.
Section 2.5.1 – Agent of Record – Selling Agent:
A sold listing when reported to the MLS must indicate the selling agent #1 name that
appears on the contract of sale.
Section 2.5.2 Reporting Non-MLS Sales in Non-MLS-Sold Property Class
Signed Closing Documents shall be submitted to the MLS within 48 hours after a Non-
MLS Sold comparable has been entered into the Paragon MLS System.
Additional MLS changes effective January 1, 2021:
GGAR Market Statistics – This monthly statistics report produced by Showing Time and
provided by SCR; will have the following Price Range Changes on the various statistics
(will appear in the February Report that includes January Stats):
150,000 and below /150,001 - 250,000/250,001 - 350,000/350,001 - 500,000 /500,001 -
750,000/750,001 - 1,000,000/1,000,001 and above.

CHANGE IN CODE OF ETHICS TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
The NAR Leadership Team has made changes to the Code of Ethics
Training both in content and the 2 year time requirement. The current
Cycle 6 deadline has been extended from
Dec. 31, 2020 to Dec. 31, 2021.
The next cycle (Cycle 7) will begin Jan. 1, 2022 and end Dec. 31, 2024.
