Information for International Students VISAS AND IMMIGRATION All non-EU citizens will require a study visa. Citizens from some countries will require an entry visa to enter Ireland. This varies depending on your citizenship so it is important that you check if this is applicable to you. If your country is listed in Schedule 1 of the Immigration Act 2004 (Visas) you will not require an entry visa. For citizens of all countries not included on Schedule 1, such as China and India; an entry visa will be required to travel to Ireland for study. If you require an entry visa, you must apply online at least 3 months before you travel to Ireland. Please note that as an immigration requirement, those applying for entry visas must give evidence that they have paid a percentage of their tuition fees. Due to this, you are encouraged to use the PayToStudy payment facility which includes a receipt for visa purposes. Other visa documentation you will be asked to provide includes evidence of private medical insurance and finances. The inclusion of incorrect documents could mean that your application is refused. In order to prepare the necessary documents to support your visa application and allow for the lengthy processing times, we advise all students to apply for their entry visas by 31st May 2018.
