GREETINGS WELCOME TO ILLINOIS Greetings! On behalf of the Illinois Office of Tourism and our presenting sponsors, Great Rivers Country and Travel Channel, I would like to welcome you to Chicago and the 2018 Illinois Governor’s Conference on Travel & Tourism. This year’s conference is going to be a great one! We’re very fortunate to be able to present several of the nation’s leading travel experts and speakers, as well as educational breakout sessions focusing on marketing tactics, public relations, market trends and more. And as always, we’ve planned plenty of conference programming to connect with industry peers, collaborate and exchange ideas to shape the future of Illinois tourism. For me, this year’s conference is also about coming together to remember. As we move throughout the next three days, we’ll take time to celebrate our industry’s best and brightest, as well as the marketing and advertising strategies that contributed to an amazing year of growth for Illinois travel. And don’t forget to explore Chicago while you’re here. As Illinois residents, we can sometimes forget just how amazing this city really is. Over the next few days, I hope you’ll take a few moments to experience the food, shopping and cultural attractions that help make Chicago one of the world’s great cities. A special and heartfelt ‘thank you’ to all of our sponsors and exhibitors, as well as the ICCVB, for their participation and support as we bring our industry together once again for this premier tourism event. We couldn’t have done it without you! Thank you so much for joining us. I look forward to sharing in all the excitement of ILGOV18 with you soon! Your friend in Illinois tourism, Cory M.
