2018 – Year of Activity! Who can believe we’re in February already, 2018 is flying by and we’re preparing some pretty exciting things! Marketspend Each quarter we receive statistics generated from Eftpos transactions on how Pukekohe is performing compared to selected town centres and Auckland overall. For the last quarter from 01 October 2017 to 31st December 2017 we were continuing our trend of growth with the amount spent in Pukekohe over $150.55m compared to $141.26m over the same period 12 months ago, this is a 6.6% increase in spending. This compares to a 2.7% increase for Auckland as a whole. Over the past 5 years our amount spent has increased 43.8%! This really indicates the growth that has been occurring in this area. The number of transactions were also up 7.2% with 2.52m transactions compared with 2.35m over the same period last year. On a same store basis i.e. merchant’s active in Pukekohe for all 24 months of the last two years, spending was up by 3.4%. Our average transaction value was fairly static over these two periods. The average transaction value was $60.60 in 2016 compared to $60.32 over Christmas 2017. Over 90% of the customers that shop in Pukekohe are located in the South Auckland area, followed by the Waikato district with a spend of over 3% and then Central Auckland with over 1%. The south Auckland area encompasses the same boundaries as the old Franklin district including Tuakau and Pokeno. Our international customers are predominantly from Australia, accounting for over 40% of our international spend, followed by the UK spending 17% and the USA spending 14%.
