RED HOOK CRITERIUM 2016

I
n 2015 I was in London in a coffee bar after a bike
training section in the English countryside
My friends started talking about the stage of Red Hook
Criterium in Greenwich Peninsula, a beautiful and modern
London district near O2 theater.
The Red Hook Criterium is the world’s most famous fixed race
held in a citizen but technical circuit at night:
BROOKLYN LONDON BARCELLONA MILANO
I immediately checked it on the internet and looked for
information, videos, pictures...
It is an extraordinary
race where you need really
great training, courage
and madness to ride a
brakeless fixed-gear bike
at foolish speed in curved
streets among 100 other
cyclists!!!! I told my friend Raffa:
‘’In 2016 team
This is world... will reach first position on

He laughed shaking his head...
he didn’t believe me... it was
impossible!!!
I picked up my phone and called
the athletes: 4 English, 1
German and 1 Australian.
I started drawing Broccolino

and so the winning race began.
When I was little boy I have been told
the same thing: ‘’it is impossible, you
will never go to the Olympic Games’’
I attended a final Olympic Race in Los
Angeles 1984.
