the COMMUNITY NEWS MAY 2021 New Gym, Pool, Spa & Clubhouse Guidelines Due to new CDC guidelines allowing for limited outdoor gatherings, as of May 1st, the pool, spa and wader will no longer require reserva ons. All reserva ons for the spa, lanes 1-5 and lane 8 will no longer be valid a er April 30th. Lanes 6 and 7 will be set up on the reserva on system for those who want to reserve a specific lane at a certain me for lap swimming. There will be a third lane, lane 8, set up on a first come first serve basis. The third lap lane will also be used for swim lessons during designated hours that are to be determined. If a swim lesson has been canceled, homeowners are welcome to use the lane for lap swimming. Honey Double- bower has once again agreed to be the swim instructor on a limited basis for the community. If you are interested in finding out more about private and semi private swim lessons, you may contact Honey directly at 858.733.1001. Please note that the pool area will be closed from 8:00am-9:00am Monday, Wednesday and Friday each week for maintenance. Management is working with the pool company to change this, but un l then, please plan accordingly. As of May 1st, the gym will be open to five people at a me whether they are all from one household or not. This will require each member of the household to schedule their own individual reserva on and con nue to check in at the front desk upon arrival. Members will be responsible for wiping down the equipment before and a er use with the disinfec ng wipes provided. All other posted CDC guidelines shall be adhered to while using the gym. The Clubhouse is available to rent for events up to fi y people with certain provisions. If you would like to rent the clubhouse, please contact The Valley Club office for more details. We look forward to returning to a level of normalcy where homeowners can once again enjoy the facili es and feel connected to the community and their neigh- bors.
DOGS OF THE MONTH These siblings, Tiny Tim, a three year old Terrier mix, and Blu, a two year old Blue Heeler mix, have very dis nct personali es. Tiny Tim is smart as a whip. He can weave in and out of your legs as you walk, ring bells, jump hoops and he can also sing. He is full of a tude and can never get enough walks. Blu, on the other hand, loves to pester Tiny Tim and take all his toys. He can be en ced by cheese which is his favorite snack. ARBOR DAY PROJECT WINNERS Join me in congratula ng these winners for the first place price of a $10 gi card for a local ice cream shop. Financial Update Report We expect to be back up and running at normal capacity this Summer if all goes as planned. Some members have expressed concern on whether this pandemic has nega vely affected the Associa on’s finances. Un- fortunately the Associa on has lost revenue these past twelve months due to the inability to rent out the clubhouse. Clubhouse rentals are incorporated into the annual budget as a way to offset certain expenses. Loss of income combined with the increased expenses associated with mee ng the disinfec ng require- ments created some level of concern. Through all of this, the Associa on has been able to absorb this loss of income and stay within budget due to the Board’s careful watch over expenditures, closure of the gym and spa per the County ordinances, and less usage of the u li es. Thank you to all the volunteers who have ded- icated their personal me to serve the community. They are the reason La Costa Valley Master Associa on has stayed on track this year and remains a premier community within Carlsbad. Please email Chris ne Birster, the general manager, at cbirster@keystonepacific.com with any financial inquiries. EGG HUNT RESULTS Many members came to the Valley Club to express their ex- citement upon finding the hid- den bunny and the giant eggs. Congratula ons to all those who par cipated. It was also great to see some of you wai ng pa- ently for the La Costa Bunny to deliver your baskets. The ex- citement on your faces made the bunny’s day. We hope you all had as much fun as we did! HOME MAINTENANCE Over the months we have been poin ng out various ways to freshen up your property’s landscaping, stucco, fences and paint. Since then, we have received a record number of Architectural Applica ons to update homes within the community. We want to thank all of you who have listened and are contribu ng to these all- me high property values we are seeing this season. Because of each of you, we can be proud to say we live in La Costa Valley Master Associa on.
