JUNIORS:
   Please return your Appraising Myself as I Plan for the Future packet immediately to schedule
     your post-secondary planning appointment.
   You are entitled to 2 college visitation days to be considered as excused absences. Permission
     slips may be obtained in the College Office as well as the College Office google classroom.
   As a reminder, be sure to sign up for the Guidance Class of 2022 Remind account using the
     class code @8d27kc so that you will receive important messages from the Guidance
     Department. Additionally, please log into your Naviance account and be sure that the email
     address listed is your personal email. Your HUFSD email address is not an active email and
     without your personal email address you will not receive important messages from Guidance.

SENIORS:
   Please schedule an appointment ASAP with Mrs. Walsh if you have not yet applied to college
     or are unsure about your future plans.

VIRTUAL COLLEGE ADMISSION SESSIONS
Seniors and juniors with an interest in any of the following colleges are encouraged to register for
a virtual admission meeting, which will be hosted by the college’s admission counselor. Simply
log into your Naviance account and scroll through the list of colleges in the What’s New
section. Click on more info then register (top right corner). Once registered, you will receive a
reminder email five days prior to the virtual meeting. Students who do not preregister are still
permitted to attend the virtual meeting. The meeting code (via ZOOM or Google Meet depending
on the college preference) will be available 15 minutes prior to the meeting and can be found on
Naviance, by following the steps above.

   Grant

Helps eligible NY residents pay tuition at approved schools in NYS. Annual TAP awards

 NYS Excelsior Scholarship
The program covers tuition for eligible SUNY and CUNY students. The program will be
phased in over three years, beginning in Fall 2017. It would first apply to families who earn

 NYS Enhanced Tuition Award
This program enables NY students attending private not-for-profit colleges in NY to receive
financial assistance to complete their college degree. The program provides a maximum
award of $3,000, requires private colleges to provide a match and freeze student tuition for
the duration of the award – maximizing the financial benefit to the student. For additional

 The Long Island Mathematics Conference Board will award up to four $1,500
  scholarships to deserving students from Queens, Brooklyn, Nassau and Suffolk
  Counties, of African American Native American or Non-European Hispanic American
  descent. These students must plan to major in mathematics at an accredited college or
  university of their choice. Candidates should address their love of mathematics in their
  personal essay and indicate the reasons why they should receive this scholarship. Only
  high school seniors are eligible for this award. The application is available on the
  College Office Google Classroom for Seniors.
