The Course is automated with Long Range equipment, allowing you to shoot on your own, without a trapper. As you drive to the sporting course you 15
will enter a six acre field. This field is the central location of the course, and has a cabin known as the Rack Shack located in the center of the field. This is a great place for a sporting clays outing. Two-man and four-man carts have been added to the fleet of vehicles to transport members to and from the course. We also have a special area designed for tall targets named “The Gorge”. The Gorge is a great way to sharpen your skills for those tall birds we all love so much to shoot at. 5 Stand Sporting Clays Located only 100 yards from the main Lodge, next to the parking area, there are 8 electric traps and 5 shooting positions. Menus of shots are posted on the shooting cage. This computerized game is very sporting and has three levels of difficulty. Wobble Area This is a 10 trap warm up area that is located 100 yards south of the Lodge. Rifle/Pistol Range TMR Preserve has one of the finest 300 yard ranges in the area. As you sit at the rifle sight-in bench you will see targets at various distances. The sight-in targets are at 50 yards, 100 yards, 200 yards, and 300 yards exactly. The TMRP staff have completed a 500 yard Rifle Range for those members wishing to do long distance shooting. Behind the Rifle Range bench is a 25 yard Pistol Range with a very high back stop. Members must call in advance to reserve time on the Ranges. When sighting in or practicing at the Rifle and Pistol Range we ask ALL Members and their guests to observe all RULES of safety. Remember a rifle bullet can travel up to 4 miles in distance. Make sure you have a backstop. If you need any assistance at the Range, we will be more than happy to send a staff member with you to assist in your needs. Please Note: Pistol Range is for Pistols Only & full metal jacket ammo is NOT to be used on the rifle or the pistol range! Section 10: Preserve Hunting *Children that accompany a hunter in the field must be at least 8 years of age and only 1 child per field is permitted* Upland Field Hunting All AM hunts end at 12 noon unless other arrangements have been made with management. For Pheasants, Chukar Partridge, Hungarian Partridge and Bobwhite Quail there is a ten bird minimum on all Field Hunts. These hunts are 2-3 hours long. Our professional staff of guides with dogs will make sure you have the best hunting experience possible. TMRP has 8 different hunting fields varying in size from 52 to 70 acres. Each field can support a maximum of three hunters. 2 3/4” ammo or smaller must be used. No guns larger than 12 gauge and no shot size larger than #6 may be used on this venue. 16
Walk in the Woods with a Gun This venue is an exciting mix of Upland field hunting and European driven shooting for 4 to 5 guns. Hunters will be alternating between stationery and walking positions. The club has plenty of areas to choose from for this hunt. The Walk in the Woods can get very exciting as both the beaters and hunters flush birds from the cover. This is one of the Clubs most popular events when snow starts to fall. This event can be booked any day AM or PM, 12 and 20 gauge only. This venue is $32.00 per bird shot. This venue is for experienced shooters only. Continental Venue (Tower Shoot) This venue consists of 10 shooting positions, which encompasses a very large circle. Each shooting position may be shared by two (2) shooters. Participants will get a chance to enjoy shooting from each position. There will be dog handlers with experienced retrievers of all types stationed outside the shooting circle, retrieving the downed birds. The bag will then be divided evenly among the shooters. Private shoots may be scheduled. 2 3/4" ammo or smaller must be used. Size 6 shot is the largest size you can use on this venue. Flighted Mallard Some of the best pass shooting one could possibly experience. Mallards are released from multiple areas. This guarantees each of the eight (8) shooting positions a real barrel warming adventure. Handlers stationed 20 to 50 yards behind the line of guns will have their retrievers fetching the downed birds. There will be 3 - 5 frames at each venue depending on the number of birds being released. Members may schedule their own private event. This shoot is a great way to entertain. 2 3/4" ammo or smaller. This is a Non-Toxic ammo venue. No 10 Gauge. Driven Pheasant TMRP has 8 spectacular areas for our Driven Pheasant Venue. The line will consist of 8 guns or less. These Pheasant present themselves as average to tall birds, meaning between 30 to 60 yards high over the guns. Club scheduled drives will put from 100 to 150 Pheasant over the guns on each drive. Special areas have been developed so the beaters can work the field and the brush. This means that the birds will not go busting over the guns all at once. We believe you will enjoy this venue and find it very sporting. Private and Corporate shoots may be arranged. Duck Swamp Shoot 1-6 Guns hunting out of blinds over decoys. Your guide(s) will be on their Mallard calls hoping to convince those mallards to come and take a look. Better yet, maybe even decoy on your rig. This will be a very relaxing and enjoyable duck hunting experience. This is a non-toxic shoot event. Call the Club and schedule your Swamp Shoot. Reminder: No shells larger than 2 ¾ inch or shot size larger than #5’s may be used. Wild Hunting Our goal at TMR Preserve is to make this venue our most precious resource. Our 3,400 acres of conifers, hardwoods, fields and water gives us a great head start. This east central region of Dutchess County is well known for its magnificent Whitetail, but also known for its Wild Turkey, Canada Geese, many varieties of Wild Duck, Grouse, and Woodcock. We also offer predator hunting for Bobcats and Coyotes which are keen and cunning and make a great wild hunt. 17
