Rally Against Cancer is a tradition for Boston Dana-Farber Cancer Institute provides

select the Jimmy Fund! Mail us the Coinstar receipt and we will add the
total to your Rally page. Encourage your donors to do the same.
Bake Sale Drop baked goods off curbside or take orders now and deliver them later.
Happy Hour Organize a “Zoom Happy Hour” and ask for donations. Perhaps a virtual
beer or wine tasting!

Kaitlyn
Kaitlyn with Red Sox player Christian Vázquez
I was diagnosed with osteosarcoma
in February 2019 and had my left foot
amputated that April. I finished treatment
in September 2019. As well as being
a cancer survivor, I’m in my first year
of high school, was elected as Vice
President of the freshman class, and
play several instruments! I also enjoy
traveling around the world, reading,
music, and studying history. Without the
Jimmy Fund and my care team, I wouldn’t
be where I am today.

2021 RALLY AGAINST CANCERSM PRESENTED BY CHOWDAHEADZ
PATIENT PARTNER PROFILE Rob interviewing Red Sox player Andrew Benintendi
I am a 38-year-old married father of two young girls, Alana,
age 6 and Sydney, age 2. My wife, Kaitlin, and I were
married in July 2010. We live in Melrose, Massachusetts,
and I work in Boston. I enjoy spending time with my family
and friends, running, and weight training.
A few of my favorite family activities include making
pancakes, cooking home-made pizza, playing at the park,
enjoying family game night, coaching my daughter’s sports
teams, camping, riding bikes, going to the beach, and
vacationing on Martha’s Vineyard.
Two short months before my diagnosis we welcomed our
second daughter, Sydney, into our family and our lives
seemed so rich and blessed. This happiness was eclipsed
not long after Sydney’s arrival, when during my annual
physical examination, my primary care physician, discovered
a lump on the right side of my neck. I had shown no signs
or symptoms of any illness. I was able to schedule an
appointment very shortly thereafter with Dr. Donald Annino,
Jr. at Dana-Farber. The next few weeks were an uncertain,
blurred, emotional whirlwind of appointments, tests, and
ultimately on July 12, 2017, a diagnosis of stage IV head
and neck squamous cell carcinoma. I underwent surgery
and radiation therapy under the direction of Dr. Jonathan
Schoenfeld, and finished treatment that November.
