Wen Yuan Lim Schneider the 2021 Roma Liggins winner with Don Secomb at Taree Eisteddfod I am WenYuan LimSchneider, and Iwon the 2021 Roma Liggins Award. I have been playing piano at the Taree & District Eisteddfod each year for ten years, allowing me to grow as a musician, a performer, and a person. Having the opportunity to perform in a professional yet supportive environment, I was able to build my confidence and resilience, ultimately shaping me into the person I am today. It was a great honour winning the Roma Liggins Scholarship, as it represents the countless opportunities I have received from the Eisteddfod. And although I may not be studying music professionally, music will always be part of who I am – because I have been doing this for most of my life; because I have grown a support network each year that I participated; because near the entrance doors to the MEC theatre there is a board, now with my name on it; because my resilience, courage, and confidence have grown all thanks to the Eisteddfods and my piano teacher Don Secomb. And that is why I will forever be grateful for the opportunities given to me by the Eisteddfod. Thank you. THANKS VOLUNTEERS Every year the Eisteddfod functions only because of its volunteer workers. We would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge all the volunteers from previous years. If you would like to become a volunteer for the Eisteddfod, please contact any committee member. We continually need to add to our group.. Thank you THANKS TO OUR SPONSORS Vocal Stacks Finance - Our Interest is in People 37
YOUR WILL CAN HELP The Eisteddfod Society is delighted to give its time voluntarily to stage the Eisteddfod. Did you know it now costs over $100,000 annually to stage? In trying to keep costs to entrants as low as possible, we seek your assistance in raising money to fund a successful future. Leaving a bequest to the Eisteddfod will ensure that the competitors we support get every opportunity to achieve their dreams. Example of a bequest: “I give $..................................................................................... to the Taree & District Eisteddfod Society Inc. for the running costs of the Eisteddfod” Thanks for helping the youth of today go forward with confidence to make a difference tomorrow. Let your Will be done! For any more information, please ring the President Tim Stack on (02)65926592 38 Stacks Finance - Our Interest is in People
