All accommodation types will require a bond to be paid. This is usually a dollar amount equal to 2 - 4 weeks’ rent. The bond is a separate payment and is not the same thing as paying rent in advance. For independent rental the bond is lodged with the State Government and will be reimbursed when you move out, provided there is no damage to the property and no outstanding rent or bills. You also need to give a minimum amount of notice if you decide to leave your accommodation. *Prices are current at the time of printing and may be subject to change. 23
