Surgical Skills Labs: University of Ottawa Skills and Simulation Centre, 1053 Carling Ave, Ottawa, ON

After a 4-year hiatus due to the COVID pandemic, The University of Ottawa, Division of Orthopaedics is proud to offer the 14th
Symposium on Joint Preserving and Minimally Invasive Surgery of the Hip to be held June 8-10, 2023 in Ottawa, Canada.

We have developed a 2 1⁄2 days symposium dedicated to a scientific and practice oriented discussion of current topics and
controversies in treating the young adult with hip pain. The 2023 program will cover varying topics, including hip arthroscopy,
femoro-acetabular impingement (FAI) / dysplasia, hip resurfacing, rapid recovery hip replacement surgery, technological
advancements in patient care platforms as well as expert panels to discuss controversies of out patient joint replacement, dual
mobility, metal on metal hip resurfacing as well as alternative bearings for hip resurfacing.

This year's program will also feature cadaveric motor skill sessions in both joint preservation (arthroscopy, osteotomy), anterior
approach hip resurfacing as well as revision surgery through the anterior approach. Furthermore, we will extend invitations to
physical therapist, athletic trainers and other health professionals involved in the care of young adult hip patients for expert panels
and symposia.
