Live Jesus Special Holy Hour SUNDAY, June 6 - 7:00 PM Our Lady of Hope St. Gabriel Church Please come and honor the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary. Many graces will be bestowed upon those who adore Him in the Blessed Sacrament! We will pray to strengthen our faith during difficult times and pay homage to Jesus who loves us unconditionally. Everyone is welcome to attend! “Of all prayers the Rosary is the most beautiful and the richest in graces; of all it is the one which is most pleasing to Mary, the Virgin Most Holy. Therefore, love the Rosary and recite it every day with devotion: this is the testament which I leave unto you so that you may Remember me by it.” ~ St. Pius X For information on the Legion of Mary contact Marlene Yannone at 412-310-7793 or Barbara Hogan at 412-884-3154. 6
Live Jesus Inspiration for the week The immensity, scope, intimacy and pervasiveness of God’s presence is too intense for the human mind. We often limit God by our expectations of Him and have a hard time just letting God be God. Some people all too easily lose faith because God does not meet their expectations. Worse still, the idea of faith is rejected altogether by others because of polarities and experiences they have that don’t square with who they need God to be. The Holy Trinity is one of those teachings best encountered rather than dissected. It is only through being present with the Trinity that we can experience both the immensity and otherness of God’s presence as well as the intimacy of the God who wants us to call Him “dad.” We feel the loving guidance of a God who wants to take us from fear and gives us confidence. Our God of yesterday, today and tomorrow is a God of all ages whose three-fold Presence invades all senses, seasons and times. God, who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit, is much more than any of our expectations if we simply let God be who God is. After many months of persistence and hard work, the members of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society were able to change our name to, “Our Lady of Hope Conference.” What we thought would be a simple Employment Opportunities endeavor turned out to be quite a task. Faith Formation and parents for their hard work, dedication, patience and understanding during this challenging year. Your continued efforts are greatly appreciated. We pray for a more ‘normal’ year beginning in the fall and will follow a liturgy-centered model rooted in the experience of the Sunday Mass and continue with the guidelines. Complacency can be a great temptation in life and of- ten caused by the opinion that everything is going ‘good enough’ or there is no hope that programs can change. One of the good experiences coming from this challenging year is that it showed us there is no room for complacency in our Faith Formation Programs. In order to understand what we are doing well and what we can improve, we would like par- ent input about onsite, virtual and home study programs, sacrament preparation, and family catechesis. If you would like to share your ideas, please email cvater@olhpgh.org. Once we have a list of parents who would like to participate, we will set a date for an open discussion.
