Welcome I am delighted to welcome you to the Love Luton Summer Reception and Dinner. The last 16 months have been like no other seen before and impacted us all. However, it does feel like we are finally turning a corner, and I am looking forward to an evening of celebrating all that is great about Luton. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to mark our 10th Anniversary as planned, but we have a fantastic year of activity planned, which is very much needed for the town. Child of Courage Young Achiever Olivia Lynn (Winner) A teenager from Luton who was bullied at school joined forces with Generation Z to raise money for Young Minds UK and Grief Encounter. Olivia, now 15, who has been singing since nursery, wanted to raise awareness of the support that is available for young people after spending years being bullied at high school. The song Strong was released to raise money for Young Minds UK and Grief Encounter, a child bereavement charity. Moving forward, Olivia will continue working on projects to raise awareness of her experience and will continue with her singing. Harvey Buckingham (Joint winner) Evie Gormley (Joint winner) Harvey suffers from a rare genetic condition that he Evie has always had health problems, but last year cannot speak, so he uses Makaton at the age of 3. has been her most challenging.
