Registration Information GENERAL REGISTRATION INFORMATION: To register online for all Recreation programs, go to www.newprov.org/recreation and click the “COMMUNITY PASS ONLINE REGISTRATION” link to be connected to the registration site, Community Pass. Credit cards are accepted for payment online. To pay by cash or check, please stop in the office to register. WITHDRAWAL POLICY: Withdrawal requests must be made at least two business days before the start of a camp/program (except where noted below for Teen Venture). All withdrawals are subject to a $20.00 processing fee per camper/program. TEEN VENTURE CAMP: Withdrawal requests must be made by June 1, 2022. No refunds will be given after June 1st. Withdrawals are subject to a $25.00 processing fee per camper/week. REFUND POLICY: Refunds will be issued in the form of a credit in your Community Pass account that can be used for future Borough Recreation Programs or returned to your credit card. Please allow 7-10 business days for refunds to be processed. WAITLIST POLICY: Each camp has a maximum number to ensure instructor/participant ratios are met and that the allotted space is suitable. If the program is full: • You may put your child on the waitlist free of charge. • If a spot in the program becomes available and your child is first on the waitlist, you will receive an e- mail saying you have been released from the waitlist. o A link is provided in the e-mail to complete the registration by paying for the program. o There is also a link to use to decline the spot. o We ask that participants accept or decline the available spot within 48 hours (or 2 business days) – after this, the spot will be offered to the next person on the waitlist. WEATHER CANCELLATION POLICY: Cancellation information will be on the Recreation Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/NPRecreation/ and emailed to participants using the emails provided on your Community Pass account. • Outdoor camps/programs will be CANCELLED in the event of heavy rain, thunder and lightning. Rain closings will be posted on the Recreation Facebook page and participants will also be emailed using the emails provided on their Community Pass accounts. • Weekend programs are evaluated by the Recreation Department and DPW on an hourly basis. Please check Facebook and/or your email before heading to a program if the weather looks questionable. Every effort will be made to email you at least an hour before a program begins. PLEASE DO NOT CALL THE OFFICE FOR WEATHER RELATED QUESTIONS - Facebook is the first thing updated once a decision is made. When possible, Recreation will schedule a make-up session for weather related cancellations. Participants will be notified via email of any make-up dates. 3
Registration Information (continued) COVID-19 POLICY: All recreation programs follow the guidelines set by the Board of Education and the Board of Health. FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: May be available based on the information from the Federal Free and Reduced Lunch Program. Inquire at Recreation. GRADE YEAR: Grade is the incoming grade for the 2022-2023 school year. For example, if your child will be entering 1st grade this Fall, they are eligible for any programs for 1st graders. ALL WELCOME! We invite people of all abilities to participate in our programs. If you or your child needs any special accommodations based on a disability, please let us know. 2022 Summer Camps June 27 – August 5, 2022 Preschool Camps (Age 3-5) September 18, 2021 – December 13, Online registration starts on March 8, 2022 at 9:00am. 2021 Camp Weeks Time Age Fee Camp Descriptions MINI-PLAYGROUND CAMP (Age 3-5): This playground-style camp for pre-school aged $85/week children is structured after our popular Mini-Playground 1, 2, 3, 9:00-11:30am 3-5 Camp 4, 5, 6 preschool recreation classes; includes crafts ($68/week 2) and games outdoors. Participants must be potty-trained and 3 years old by the start of camp. Location: Lions Park Golf Squirts 6 4:00-4:45pm 4 $75 Camp GOLF SQUIRTS CAMP (Age 4): Squirts golf is an ideal introduction for young children to the game of golf. Players use modified golf clubs that encourage children to develop correct grip and swing mechanics and play to a colorful Velcro target rather than holes. Location: Lincoln Field. NOTE: Outdoor camps/programs will be CANCELLED in the event of heavy rain, thunder and lightning. Rain closings will be posted on the Recreation Facebook page and participants will also be emailed using the emails provided on their Community Pass accounts. If it starts to rain after camp begins, children will need to be picked up. NEW LOCATION! $300/week CAMP LINCOLN (Grades 1-6): This full-day Camp 1, 2, 3, 8:30am – 4:30pm 1-6 camp includes games, crafts, daily STEAM Lincoln 4, 5, 6 ($240/week 2) classes, special events, weekly entertainers, indoor and outdoor activities and so much more! Campers must bring lunch (except on Camp $60/week Fridays for Pizza day!). Low Camper to 1, 2, 3, Lincoln 4:30-5:30pm 1-6 4, 5, 6 Counselor ratio and excellent staff make for Late Pick-up ($45/week 2) summertime fun for everyone. PLAYGROUND CAMP (Grades 1-6): This CAMP LINCOLN DAILY SCHEDULE popular half-day program includes supervised 8:30am Arrival/Check-in playground activities, games and crafts led by enthusiastic counselors. 2022 Teen Venture Camp June 27 – August 5, 2022 Full Day Camp (Grades 7-10) September 18, 2021 – December 13, Online registration starts on March 15, 2022 at 9:00am. 2021 Weeks Destinations/Return Time Fee Camp Description TEEN VENTURE CAMP (Grades 7-10): This is Mon - Palisades Mall, AMC, Dave & Busters (4:00pm) a 4-day camp: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday Week 1: Tue - Bucks County Tubing (4:30pm) June 27- $340 and Thursday (3 days in Week 2). Teens will go Wed - Dorney Park (6:00pm) June 30 on a different trip each day to places including Thu - Jenkinson’s Beach & Boardwalk (4:00pm) amusement parks, Point Pleasant Beach and other outdoor and indoor venues. Kids will have the opportunity to spend the summer Week 2: Tue - Bucks County Tubing (4:30pm) $255/ hanging out with each other in a safe and July 5-7 Wed - Dorney Park (6:00pm) (3 days) Thu - Jenkinson’s Beach & Boardwalk (4:00pm) 3 days supervised environment. Price includes all fees and transportation. Lunch not included unless otherwise specified. Location: Meet bus at Lincoln Field. 2022 Swimming Lessons June 27 – August 5, 2022 Swimming Lessons (Age 5-16) September 18, 2021 – December 13, Online registration starts on March 8, 2022 at 9:00am. 2021 Camp Weeks Times Age Fee Lesson Descriptions BEGINNER (Age 5-10). For students who are new 9:00-9:50am to swimming. 50-minute group lessons are 1 & 2, presented in a fun and encouraging manner. Beginner 3 & 4, 10:00-10:50am 5-10 $95 Instruction is geared toward water safety and Lessons 5&6 swimming enjoyment. 8-Day Sessions (Tues- 11:10am-Noon Fri). 11:10am for Pool Members Only. INTERMEDIATE (Age 5 and up): For students who 9:00-9:50am are comfortable swimming in 4 feet of water with 1 & 2, their face submerged for 10 yards. 50-minute Intermediate 3 & 4, 10:00-10:50am 5 and up $95 Lessons group lessons are presented in a fun manner. 5&6 11:10am-Noon Instruction is geared toward water safety and swimming enjoyment. 8-Day Sessions (Tues- Fri). 11:10am for Pool Members Only. PRE-TEEN & TEEN BEGINNER (Age 10-16): For Pre-Teen & 1 & 2, students who are new to swimming. 50-minute Teen Beginner 3 & 4, 9:00-9:50am Age 10-16 $95 group lessons are presented in a fun and Lessons 5&6 encouraging manner. Instruction is geared toward water safety and swimming enjoyment. 8-Day Sessions (Tues-Fri). New Providence Recreation conducts swimming lessons at the New Providence Community Pool (NPCP). Non- residents (including non-resident NPCP members) may register beginning June 6, 2022, if space permits. This is a drop-off program. Community Pool regulations prohibit parents from being in the pool area during swim lessons provided by NP Recreation. Please do not register for this program if you are not comfortable with your child being in the water without you. Parents should register swimmers by skill level, i.e. Beginner or Intermediate. In order to provide adequate instruction for all participants, registration will be limited for all time slots. Swimmers are assessed and grouped by the ability levels on the first day of each 8-day session by the instructors. Instruction begins on day two of each session. Beginner swimmers can expect their instructor in the water with them at all times. For intermediate swimmers, the instructor will be in the water for demonstration purposes and other times when the swimmers need support. On the first day of each session, parents will receive a form with their child’s placement level and the list of skills to be covered. An evaluation form will be given at the end of each session. Lessons will not be held in the event of heavy rain, thunder & lightning. Rain closings will be posted on the Recreation Facebook Page and participants will be emailed using the emails provided in their Community Pass accounts. If it starts to rain after lessons begin, children will need to be picked up. 10

Do you like to perform in front of an Theatre 3, 4 9:00am-12:00pm 1-6 $250 audience? Do you like to see musical theater performances? Academy Join Ms. Crockett and Ms. Ditta (who have worked on NPHS musicals as vocal director and choreographer) for a week of theatrical fun learning how to put together a musical number 9:00-11:00am 1-3 $150 for a show…AND perform it at the end of the week! Location: NPHS Auditorium Art Camp 7, 8 ART CAMP (Grades 1-6): Talented Recreation art teachers will 11:30am – 1:30pm 4-6 $150 lead a range of creative art activities involving clay, painting and pastels. Camp projects are different each week. All materials included. Location: Municipal Center Art Room 9:00am-12:00pm 2-6 $200 MAGIC CAMP (Grades 3-6): Get ready to take an amazing Magic Camp 7 adventure into the exciting world of magic. Build confidence, enhance critical thinking skills, get creative and develop 12:30-3:30pm 2-6 $200 social skills while having fun. Receive a professional magic kit and perform in a student show on the last day. Campers may take morning or afternoon individually or extend the fun and take both sessions to earn a blue graduation magic wand 9:00am-12:00pm 1-5 $225 and magic bonuses. Full day campers must bring lunch. Chess Camp 8 Location: Municipal Center Gym Stage 12:00-3:00pm 1-5 $225 CHESS CAMP (Grades 1-5): Improve your chess skills, meet new friends, and work out your most powerful muscle - your brain! Camps include fun team chess games, recess time, snacks, tournaments and puzzles. Each camper receives a T- Live Action shirt, trophy, and puzzle folder. Location: Municipal Center Gym Stage Lego Flix 9 1:00-4:00pm 2-7 $250 LIVE ACTION FLIX (Grades 2-7): Discover your filmmaking talents! You don’t have to be an actor to take part, as we'll guide you through the Hollywood process to create, direct, film, act, and more. You won't just make an incredible movie; you'll have the skills to make your own movies with friends. Campers may take morning or afternoon individually or extend the fun and take both sessions. There is a supervised lunch break from 12-1pm for full day campers. Location: Municipal Center Art Room LEGO FLIX (Grades 2-7): Bring Lego worlds to life! We provide Legos. You provide your imagination. Work in groups to create a Lego set with Lego characters for a stop-motion movie you'll storyboard, shoot, and add voice-overs too. Age appropriate Camp groups will work on hitting, fielding, base-running, and pitching. Pioneer Location: New Providence HS (Miller Field) Softball 1 8:30-11:30am 2-9 $120/4days Camp PIONEER SOFTBALL CAMP (Grades 2-9): 4-day camp. Led by NPHS Varsity Coach, Jill Fischman, learn All Sports hitting and fielding skills and strategies while instilling $180/week 0 Camp 0, 7, 8 9:00am-12:00pm 1-6 a sense of sportsmanship in a fun and rewarding $210 (STRIVE) environment. Location: AWR Soccer Camp 1, 3, 5 9:00am-12:00pm 3-8 $210 ALL SPORTS CAMP (Grades 1-6): Campers will (STRIVE) participate in numerous activities including kickball, basketball, four square, fitness and more! (STRIVE) Campers receive quality instruction from the NPHS Soccer coaching staff and high school varsity players. Location: NPHS Lieder Field Girls 8 3:00-5:00pm 9-12 $120 Volleyball TRACK & FIELD CAMP (Grades 3-8): Introduce kids to running events, jumps and throws. Sessions led by NPHS Track & Field staff. Each week will culminate in a mini-meet where kids can show off the skills they learned. Location: NPHS Track LACROSSE CAMP (Grades 3-8): For boys and girls lacrosse players of all abilities, whether you’ve been playing for a couple of years, or just starting out. Join our New Providence coaching staff as they take campers through a series of skills, drills, small competitions as well as overall fun and games. Location: Oakwood Park GIRLS VOLLEYBALL (Grades 9-12): Get some summer training before the High School pre-season begins. 2022 Summer Camps June 22 – August 31, 2022 USSI Sports Camps (Grades K-12)September 18, 2021 – December 13, Online registration starts on March 8, 2022 at 9:00am. 2021 Camp Weeks Time Gr Fee Camp Descriptions TENNIS CAMP (Age 5-14): Tennis instruction to Tennis Camp 1, 4, 5, 6 9:00am-12:00pm K-8 $215 challenge players and ensure they have a fantastic experience at camp. Topics include stroke technique, serving, court awareness, and rallying. Bring your own K-2 $195 racquet. Basketball Location: Tennis Court Complex. 6 9:00am-12:00pm Camp 3-6 $195 BASKETBALL CAMP (Age 5-11): Players receive basketball instruction that will challenge them and ensure they have fun at camp. We encourage K-1 $140 maximum participation, good sportsmanship, and Golf Camp 6 5:00-7:00pm fun! Mario Kart 8 Nintendo Switch Mon New Providence Recreation has partnered with Fortnite Solos GGLeagues to run an esports club for ages 8-18. Xbox, PlayStation, Switch or PC Tue (Age 13-18 only) NOTE: All esports games are played from home. Rocket League 1v1 Xbox, PlayStation, Switch or PC Wed GGLeagues provides a platform for gamers to compete in a fun, safe, structured setting. GGLeagues manages Rocket League 3v3 Xbox, PlayStation, Switch or PC Wed the game schedules and standings and also provides referees and administrators to monitor game play. 2022 TryCAN Camp June 20 – August 12, 2022 Information New Providence Recreation is part of TryCAN, a collaboration of communities formed to provide a comprehensive selection of recreational opportunities for kids with special needs. At TryCAN Inclusion Camp, children will be placed into groups with a 1:3 ratio that will be a subsection of grade appropriate groups in Summit Recreation’s general summer camp program. All camp counselors will be students in Seton Hall’s Elementary/Special Education Program. Mornings are held at the Summit Community Center, 100 Morris Ave, where athletic activities, arts and crafts and game room time are held. All participants must bring a packed lunch.
