Let Girl Scouts Heart of Central California be your gateway to the outdoors this summer. Girl Scout programming is designed to help your camper discover their potential through the development of new skills and the experiential learning cycle. Girls approach W S challenges by choice with the support of other campers N E and counselors in the beautiful outdoors. Campers are mentored to connect their camp experience to everyday life experiences, providing for independent growth and development. In every program offered, counselors are excited to provide a uniquely fun and enriching experience for your girl, after which she will approach her world more confidently. ENTERING GRADES: 4-9 horse programs Girl Scouts of Heart of Central California is proud to own 18 riding horses. Camp Menzies campers in sessions that are four days or longer will have the opportunity to participate in a one-hour horseback riding experience, including a safety orientation, arena instruction and—if you are in grade four and older—a short trail ride. Campers in grades two and three will stay in the arena and play games. If you have more than 10 hours of riding experience and are attending a program lasting seven days or longer, you can sign up for an intermediate ride for an additional fee. These four different horse-themed programs as well as Wrangler-in-Training, a leadership program for girls in grades 10-12, include extra ground lessons with our horseback riding staff as well as extended riding periods.
