Together, we come back Stronger To launch the platform, Fund My Challenge are running a series of ‘Hero’ challenges with some of the founding partners, to raise awareness and raise as much money as possible for their nominated charities. First up... Former NRL player, Chris Walker, is taking on his biggest challenge to date as he sets out to walk from Cairns to Gold Coast, via State of Origin Game 2, rallying Australians on route and across the nation as he raises money for charities which have been overwhelmed by the Covid crisis. Chris’ beneficiaries are: Beyond Blue, RizeUp, Alcohol and Drug Foundation, and Global Awakening. A brutal 1,757 kms over 65 days, Chris is walking for Australian individuals, families and communities reeling from the long lasting impact of Covid-19 (which isn’t over yet). For this mammoth challenge, Walker is fighting back and fighting for those who have felt the impact of poor mental health, suicide, drug and alcohol, and domestic violence abuse. Causes very close to Chris’ heart, he has witnessed how easily these issues can slowly creep up and take over a person’s life. 2 / Challenge Fundraiser Chris Walker
“ I’m taking on this challenge to raise funds and awareness for a few really important Charities in Beyond Blue, RizeUp, Alcohol and Drug Foundation, and Global Awakening so they can continue to implement their amazing programs and keep up with the unprecedented demand for their services. “ I wholeheartedly believe that if we want to come back post Covid stronger, we must support the most vulnerable Australians. 3 / Challenge Fundraiser Chris Walker

Kids & Community Along the walk we plan to reach and engage with as many rugby league loving kids and communities across regional QLD as possible. From taking part in junior footy clinics and attending carnivals, Chris and a selection of former NRL players and FOGS will focus on bringing a bit of fun and footy excitement to local towns across the state. While the challenge is huge and the charities we are aligned with are providing crucial services in the current environment, we believe Rugby League is the perfect vehicle to assist in bringing communities and people together. 6 / Challenge Fundraiser Chris Walker
