Glasgow Prestwick Airport's location on the Great Circle Route The team at Glasgow Prestwick Airport is assessing imports and exports from Scotland, and mapping where these goods are arriving from or going to and identifying where there could be balanced payloads. A key export sector in Scotland, that the airport is looking to build relationships with, is the food and drink sector. There are a number of high volume and short shelf life food exports – for example fish – where air cargo could present an option that is more reliable than other options. This industry has faced problems with using road haulage to get goods to Europe as a result of closures of the Channel Tunnel.
