JOE HARSTAD (Artistic Director) took his first improv class at the age of
fifteen, and has been practicing the art ever since. In 2015, Joe moved from
performing to directing. Joe creates new troupes and develops new themes for
the shows, directs performances at Stevie Ray’s Comedy Cabaret, and directs
the School of Improv, training new instructors as well as teaching improv and
stand-up comedy classes himself. When not sitting in the director’s booth at
Stevie Ray’s Comedy Cabaret, you will often find Mr. Harstad in the sound and
light booth, lending his talents as a technician (it also allows him to keep an eye
on the troupe).
