State Institute of Advanced Studies in Teacher Education (An autonomous institute of teacher education established by Govt. of Haryana) (Formally known as Prarambh School for Teacher Education, Jhajjar) Model School Building, Opposite Govt. PG Nehru College, Jhajjar (Haryana) - 124103 [Recognised by NCTE, New Delhi under innovative category and affiliated to MDU Rohtak] Admission Notice (Batch: 2021-25) State Institute of Advanced Studies in Teacher Education (SIASTE), Jhajjar is an innovative teacher education institute established by Govt. of Haryana in 2013. The institute seeks applications for admission to following programme for 2021-25 batch: 1. B.A. B.Ed. (Four Year Integrated Programme) - 30 seats 2. B.Sc. B.Ed. (Four Year Integrated Programme) - 70 seats (divided equally among Maths and Biology groups) The admissions to institute will be made on the basis of merit list of Common Entrance Examination (CEE-2021) conducted by National Council of Education Research & Training (NCERT) and coordinated by Regional Institute of Education (RIE) Bhopal. The admission process consists of two parts viz: (i) Appearing in CEE-2021 conducted by RIE Bhopal under NCERT. (ii) Participation in counseling process of institute (to be initiated after declaration of result of CEE-2021) with valid CEE-2021 score. Therefore, eligible candidates interested in taking admission to institute are advised to appear in CEE-2021 by submitting the application at link: www.cee.ncert.gov.in during 20th May 2021 to 30th June 2021. The CEE-2021 is scheduled to be held on 18th July 2021 with test centre at major cities across the country. The successful candidates of CEE-2021 will have to apply to institute for participating in counseling process for admission to SIASTE. The schedule for counseling will be available on institute website www.siaste.org once after declaration of result of CEE-2021. The relevant rules of NCTE, Govt. of Haryana, Maharishi Dayanand University Rohtak and NCERT regarding admissions will be applicable. The prospective candidates are advised to keep in tune with the CEE-2021 and institute website regularly for more details regarding eligibility conditions, reservation, counseling schedule, any change/amendment in schedule etc. It shall be sole responsibility of candidates/parents to complete all process on time and institute will not bear any liability to inform the individual candidates. B.Ed. / B.A. B.Ed. (Four-Year Integrated Programme) State of Advanced Studies in Teacher Education (hereafter referred as SIASTE) is first of its kind intuitive by any State Govt. in country, culminated by Govt. of Haryana to improve quality of school education through innovation in teacher education. The SIASTE is affiliated to Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak ('A+' Grade University Accredited by NAAC & NIRF Rank - 76) and recognised by National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), New Delhi under innovative Category. The institute was established in 2013 as coveted project with carminative vision to bring phenomenal change in quality of education by producing teachers equipped with 21st centaury skills. Within short period of its inception, the SIASTE has set a trend in teacher education not only in Haryana rather across the country through its record breaking success. There is no field in academia, culture, sports and social service activities where the students of the institute have not brought laurels. This institute is known to prepare “passionate teacher rather than just professionals”. The unique blend of four years B.Sc. / B.Ed. programme render our graduate pass-out with an Integrated Bachelor Degree having dual advantage of both B.A./B.Sc. and B.Ed. through which they can either pursue career in higher studies and jobs at par with traditional graduates and B.Ed. The alumina of institute has made its remarkable presence in reputed schools / educational organizations in government and private sectors across India and abroad. Many of the students are pursuing their higher studies in M.Sc., M.A., M.Ed. and Ph.D. in various reputed Institutes of National Importance / Central Universities / State Universities / Institutes of Repute. The popularity of programme can be gauged from the fact that last year we had more than 1200 candidates from pan India who participated in counseling for 100 seats in the institute. Presently, students from across 18 states / UTs of country are studying in the campus presenting a panoramic view of “mini India”. The institute campus is ragging free and support multicultural mingling across various dimensions of social and regional diversities. The admission to institute is made on the basis of merit of Common Entrance Exam (CEE) conducted by National Council for Education Research and Training (NCERT). This year CEE-2021 is handled by Regional Institute of Education (RIE) Bhopal. The successful candidates of CEE-2021 will have to participate in “Admission & Counselling Process - 2021” to be held by institute separately. Keeping in view the current pandemic situation prevailing due to outbreak of COVID-19; his year the schedule of “Admission & Counselling Process - 2021” will be issued on institute website www.siaste.org after declaration of result of CEE-2021 by RIE (NCERT) Bhopal. The prospective meritorious candidates appearing in CEE-2021 and willing to opt SIATE to pursue their Under- graduate Integrated Teacher Education Programme should tune to institute website for latest information. All information regarding Admission and Counselling will be displayed on institute website only and institute will not intimate students individually. Please note that for admission to SIASTE candidates have to undergo two tier processes. First they have to apply and appear in CEE-2021 to be conducted by RIE (NCERT) Bhopal and then have to apply for the counseling of the institute with valid score of CEE-2021. No student will be admitted to institute without appearing in CEE-2021. 1
1. Admission Process: (A) Registration for CEE-2021: The online registrations for the CEE-2021 to be conducted by NCERT and moderated by RIE Bhopal are open now. For more details candidates can visit the portal: http://cee.ncert.gov.in and fill the form for appearing in CEE-2021. A application / registration fee of Rs. 1000/- for General and OBC Rs. 500/- for SC/ST/PwD/EWS candidates will be charged by CEE office. (B) Admission and Counselling Process: The counseling for the admission to be institute will be conducted by the institute separately. This year due to prevailing retractions / lockdown imposed by the government the “Admission and Counseling Process” will be accomplished in on-line mode. The schedule for this process will be displayed on the institute website after declaration of result of CEE-2021 by NCERT / RIE Bhopal. 2. Admission Schedule: (A) Registration for CEE-2021: The registration for CEE-2021 is open during May 2021 to 30th June 2021. For any change / extension in schedule candidates are advised to visit portal: http://cee.ncert.gov.in regularly. (B) Admission and Counselling Process: The schedule for “Admission and Counselling Process” in the institute will be issued after declaration of result of CEE-2021 and made available on the institute website: www.siaste.org. Candidates are advised to keep in tune to institute website regularly after declaration of result of CEE-2021. Mere appearing in CEE-2021 will not ensure admission of a candidate to institute. The participation in “Admission & Counseling Process” is mandatory for admission. Merit will be sole criteria for admission. 3. Number of Seats in various Programmes: Presently institute run the four year integrated under- graduate programmes in B.A. B.Ed. and B.Sc. B.Ed. only. The NCTE recognised seats available for admission for 2021-25 batch are as follow: (i) B.A. B.Ed. (Four Year Integrated Programme) - 30 seats (ii) B.Sc. B.Ed. (Four Year Integrated Programme) - 70 seats (divided equally among Physical Sc. (Mathematics) and Biological Science (Biology) groups. Note: Institute / Management reserves the right to reshuffle the seats among various programmes. 4. Scheme of Studies for the Programme: The course will be conducted as per scheme of studies approved by the Maharshi DayanandUniversity, Rohtak (Haryana) under the guidelines of National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) New Delhi. However, affiliation jurisdiction of institute may change, if state government notifies so. 5. Eligibility for Admission: (A) Eligibility for B.Sc. B.Ed. Programme: (i) Candidates seeking admission to Physical Science Group must have passed Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) (Mathematics includes Mathematics or Statistics) and those seeking admission to Biological Science Group (CBZ) must have passed Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) (Biology includes Biology or Biotechnology) at +2 level. (ii) Candidates must have passed +2 / Hr. Sec./ Sr. Sec. or any equivalent examination recognised by University/ Board with at least 60% marks .The examination should be recognised by M.D.U. Rohtak, the affiliating University of SIASTE. 2
(iii) Candidates who have passed +2 or any equivalent examination in 2019, 2020 or appearing / appeared in 2021 only. (B) Eligibility for B.A. B.Ed. Course (i) Candidates must have passed Hr. Secondary/Sr. Secondary or equivalent examination in Science, Arts and Commerce streams with at least 60% marks in 2019, 2020 or appearing / appeared in 2021 only. (ii) The examination should be recognized by M.D.U. Rohtak, the affiliating University of SIASTE. Note: The relaxation as per State Govt. of Haryana / MDU Rohtak norms will be applicable to relevant categories. 6. Criteria for CEE-2021 Results, Score & Ranking (i) For B.Sc. B.Ed.: A cumulative rank of each candidate will be decided by CEE office by considering 60% of the marks scored in CEE-2021 and 40% of the marks obtained in only the subjects of Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics (PCM) or Physics, Chemistry & Biology (PCB) in the qualifying examination. (ii) For B.A. B.Ed.: A cumulative rank of each candidate will be decided by CEE office by considering 60% of the marks scored in CEE-2021 and 40% of the marks obtained in qualifying examination. Note: The CEE office may change the criteria of Results, Score & Ranking. The institute will consider only the final score / rank issued by CEE-2021 without any moderation. 7. Reservation: Reservation in admission would be applicable as per Government of Haryana / affiliating university instructions issued from time to time. It is further made clear that benefit of reservation will be given to the candidates, who have Haryana domicile and/or have got the requisite certificate from Haryana State only. Further it is made clear that the certificate of OBC / SC / ST will be considered only for CEE-2021 and for “Admission and Counseling Process” of the institute only the certificates issued by competent authority for BC-A/BC-B of Haryana instead of OBC and SC/SC Deprived of Haryana instead of SC/ST will be considered valid. The EWS certificate having validity on the date of admission will only be considered for reservation in relevant category. 8. Exam Pattern of CEE 2020 The detailed pattern of CEE-2021 is available on portal http://cee.ncert.gov.in. The few key- points regarding CEE-2021 are as follow: (i) No. of test items-80, Time Duration-120 minutes. (ii) Out of 80 questions, Language Proficiency in English 20 questions, Teaching Aptitude/Attitude 30 questions and Reasoning Ability 30 questions weightage will be given. (iii) Medium of Test Booklets – English and Hindi. (iv) Correct answer(s) will carry 2 marks each, Wrong answer(s) will carry negative marking of (minus) -0.5 marks each and Question(s) unattempted will carry no marks. (v) Exam duration: 2 Hrs. (from 9:00 am to 11:00 am) 9. Syllabus of CEE 2020 For all the groups, areas to be tested are (i) Language Proficiency, (ii) TeachingAptitude/Attitude, and (iii) Reasoning Ability. 3
(i) Language Proficiency indicating specific areas like comprehension, rearranging sentences, selecting suitable words for the blanks, finding out errors in parts of thesentences, finding out equivalent meaning to the given phrases, finding out suitable words for the incomplete sentences, sequencing, grammar which includes synonyms, antonyms, idioms, prepositions, tenses, articles. (ii) Teaching Aptitude will cover specific areas like attitude towards education, children and teaching profession; interest in teaching; leadership qualities & groupmanagement; emotional & social adjustment; intrapersonal & interpersonal skills; and general awareness of contemporary issues pertaining to school education. (iii) Reasoning Ability indicating specific areas like verbal non-verbal reasoning, missing numbers, number series, letter series, theme finding, jumbling, analogy, odd one out, arranging the statements in a sequential form, statement and conclusions, syllogism, logical problems, establishing relationships. 10. Documents Required at the time of Admission: The Candidates should submit all original certificates/documents with self attested copies of the testimonials at the time of admission along with six latest passport size photographs. They will also be required to submit the following documents. Candidates should retain a printed copy of the Application Form (duly filled in by the candidate) (i) Resident of Haryana: Self attested photocopy of Haryana Resident Certificate issued by the competent authority i.e., Deputy Commissioner/City Magistrate/Sub-Divisional Officer (civil)/ Tehsildar/ NaibTehsildar/ Head of the department. In the case ofcandidate who has qualified the examination i.e., 10+2 from a school situated in Haryana for current year will produce a certificate issued by the principal of the concerned institution as resident certificate. (ii) Self attested photocopy of 10+2/Sr. Secondary School Certificate issued by Board. (iii) Self attested photocopy of the secondary certificate as a documentary proof of age and subject passing Hindi/Sanskrit. (iv) Original copy of the certificate of good conduct issued by the Principal of theInstitution last attended or a Gazzetted Officer / MLA / MP. (v) An affidavit regarding anti ragging from students & parents. (vi) A declaration / under taking from the students for abiding rules and regulation of SIASTE and its Hostel. (vii) Migration certificate of Board of School Education concerned in original. (viii) Only two self-attested photocopy of the following certificates (belonging to reserve categories) is to be submitted along with the original certificates at the time of Admission/Counseling. (a) For the candidates belonging to SC: copy of certificate issued by the competent authority i.e., Tehsildar/ NaibTehsildar, Head of the Department- in case of Govt. employees. (b) For the candidates belonging to BCA/BCB: copy of certificate issued by the competent authority i.e., Tehsildar/NaibTehsildar/Head of the Department-in case of Govt. employees. (c) For the candidates belonging to Economically Backward Persons in the General Caste Category (EBPGC): copy of certificate issued by the competent authority i.e., Tehsildar/NaibTehsildar, Head of the Department - incase of Govt. employees as per the State Government instructions. (d) Physically Challenged (PHC): copy of certificate issued by Civil Surgeon of the 4
District Concerned. The disability should not be less than 40%. (e) For Dependent of children or grandchildren (Maternal/Paternal) claiming the benefit of Freedom Fighter: The certificate from Chief Secretary Haryana and relationship certificate from the Deputy Commissioner/competent authority. (f) For Ex-servicemen & Dependent Ex-servicemen category: copy of certificate issued from the Zila Sainik/District Sailors and Soldiers Board. Note: (i) Admission of candidates, who fulfill all eligibility conditions, shall be made on thebasis of relative merit (stream wise). (ii) In case any candidate is found to have furnished false/fake information or certificate etc. or is found to have withheld/concealed information in his/her online application form or thereafter at any state of admission, his/her candidature for admission will be cancelled and legal proceedings will be initiated against such candidate. (iii) A minimum of 15 students will be have to take admission in a particular course/ stream, for making it functional. In case the no. of students taking admission in a particular stream is less than 15, then that particular stream will not be started and the admission fee deposited by the students will be refunded. In such a case the no. of seats in the other streams will be increased, depending upon the performance of the students in the Common Entrance Examination. (iv) The vacant seats notified in different streams may increase in case students, who have already taken admission, withdraw their candidature. 11. Fee Structure: Institute charge fee of Rs. 18400/- annually. Students are required to submit the fee at start of each year before prescribed a cutoff date. The fee may be changed at the discretion of Govt. institute management. In case a student withdraws the admission the refund of fee will be made out as per rules of Haryana Govt. / MDU Rohtak. 12. Hostels: Institute has separate hostels for female and female students. At present the hostel fee for dormitory accommodation is Rs. 1700/- for six months excluding mess charges. The mess charges are collected on monthly basis as per applicable rate under institute rules. 13. Anti-Ragging: Institute has zero tolerance on ragging. Strict action will be taken against those involved in such nefarious activities including expulsion from institute or hostel. At the time of admission students / parents will have to submit an undertaking of anti-ragging. 14.
