Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium Client QPR Football Club Duration 2019 onwards Services Building Surveying M&E Engineering Project Management Quantity Surveying Rights of Light and Party Wall Structural Engineering Collaborated (speculatively) with Michael Drain Architects (MDA) to undertake a feasibility study Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium In 2019, we collaborated with Michael Drain Architects (MDA) to undertake a speculative feasibility study for the improvement of Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium (formerly Loftus Road Stadium) home to Queens Park Rangers. Using existing studies which had been undertaken by MDA while the club was under its former ownership as a starting point, calfordseaden provided consultancy services for project management, surveying, cost, structural, M&E and party wall, rights to light and sunlight and daylight services, while MDA developed its design proposals with some surprising results. The study identified the potential for an increase in capacity between 30% and 50%. We provided a project programme and our cost team identified that the project could be delivered for a construction cost in the order of £75m - £93m depending upon which options were implemented. Plough Lane Plough Lane Our Health & Safety team provided Principal Designer services on the early phases of the AFC Wimbledon Stadium development. Client Formed in 2002, AFC Wimbledon had two founding aims; to return KSS Group to the English Football League and return to playing in Merton, Duration their ‘spiritual home’. While we had no part to play in getting them 2017 - 2020 into the league, we certainly did help them move from Milton Services Keynes back to their beloved home of South West London. Principal Designer Advisor Designed by KSS Group, the development consists of the demolition of existing buildings and the dog track, and erection of a new football stadium with hospitality and grounds. The development will also transform the adjoining boundaries into 602 new quality homes, retail space and the new expanded Christopher’s Squash Club. Planning approval has allowed the club to build a 20,000-seater stadium, with an initial capacity of up to 11,000 that fulfils AFC Wimbledon’s aim to grow as a club and bring substantial benefits to the local community. Brentford Community Stadium Brentford Community Stadium In 2015, we were appointed by Prime Place Ltd (the private development arm of Wilmott Dixon) to provide Employer’s Agent Client and Quantity Surveying services for the delivery of the Brentford Prime Place Community Stadium, the new home of Brentford Football Club. Duration The development, located on a ten-acre site near Kew Bridge 2015-2017 Railway Station, also includes 648 new dwellings for sale and Services private rent. Employer’s Agent Quantity Surveyor We assisted Prime Place in coordinating and managing the development of designs by the design team. We also provided quantity surveying and cost advice services up to the start of the 2-stage tender process, in preparation for procuring contractors for the build. Through collaboration, the team was able to overcome technical challenges that arose such as the site being landlocked, and the structures of the residential and stadium overlapping on two sides. We provided monthly reports to the Board of Willmott Dixon holdings, managed the regular design team reporting meetings, and prepared various preparatory works contracts including site clearance, demolition and remediation, construction of a bridge over the railway, mains infrastructure installations and adjustments to local highways. calfordseaden.com 4
The Wrap, Watford calfordseaden worked collaboratively with Origin Group, Watford The Wrap, Watford Football Club and Griffin Housing for the delivery of ‘The Wrap.’ This project provides 164 mixed-tenure dwellings that wrap Client around the existing football stadium as well as WFC stadium Origin Group accommodation including new changing rooms, a media suite and Duration offices as shell and core. Employer’s Agent Cost Consultant The development involved significant consultation. The infrastructure requirements were complex, therefore significant collaboration between utility providers and project stakeholders was crucial. As Employer’s Agent, out role was crucial to the co- ordination of all stakeholders and processes. The solid co-ordination process was central to the successful delivery of this project.
