During the last three years we have connected over 220 Somerset businesses – including many Chamber members – with over 6,000 young people to keep Somerset’ talent pipeline flowing. The importance of these interventions cannot be over-stated. Often, hearing directly from an employer provides the ‘light-bulb moment’ for a young person - as highlighted by one local student stating ‘I have a dream that I will now fulfil’. This impact has been made possible with initial funding from the Hinkley Point C Community Impact Mitigation Fund, along with local authority commissions and business sponsorship.
