Smart Medical & Diagnos c Centre is Pakistan-owned company that has been serving the imaging and lab services needs of Pakistani from
the last past more than two years. Today, SMDC performs thousands laboratory tests and scans every year, for helping healthcare diagnose

With an objec ve to provide quality services and outcomes to the masses of Islamabad, SMDC primary aim is to provide prompt, reliable

PCR LAB
SMDC has established a dedicated Covid 19
PCR testing Laboratory. This BSL-2 Covid lab
is equipped with state of the art PCR systems
by Hibergene diagnostics Ireland. The high
quality CE marked and IVD approved kits are
being used for testing which are also made by
Hibergene Diagnostics Ireland. Currently we
have a PCR testing capacity of 2000 per day.
At SMDC we are also equipped with Cobas
E411 for the Covid 19 antibodies testing.

Electroencephalogram (EEG)
An electroencephalogram (EEG) is a test that detects electrical activity in your
brain using small, metal discs (electrodes) attached to your scalp. Your brain cells
communicate via electrical impulses and are active all the time, even when you're asleep.
This activity shows up as wavy lines on an EEG recording.
Nerve Conduction Study (NCS)
A nerve conduction velocity (NCV) test — also called a nerve conduction study (NCS) —
measures how fast an electrical impulse moves through your nerve. NCV can identify nerve
damage. During the test, your nerve is stimulated, usually with electrode patches attached to your skin.
Electromyography (EMG)
Electromyography (EMG) measures muscle response or electrical activity in
response to a nerve’s stimulation of the muscle. The test is used to help detect
neuromuscular abnormalities.

Electrocardiogram (ECG)
An electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG) records the electrical signal from your
heart to check for different heart conditions. Electrodes are placed on your chest
to record your heart's electrical signals, which cause your heart to beat.
Echocardiogram (ECHO)
An echocardiogram (echo) is a graphic outline of the heart's movement. During an
echo test, ultrasound (high-frequency sound waves) from a hand-held wand placed
on your chest provides pictures of the heart's valves and chambers and helps the
sonographer evaluate the pumping action of the heart.
Exercise Tolerance Test (ETT)
An exercise tolerance test (ETT) records the electrical activity of your
heart whilst you exercise. It is most useful in patients who experience
chest pain when they exert themselves. It is also used to detect whether
heart rhythm abnormalities can be brought on by exercise.

Open MRI
Open MRI is completely open on all four sides and provides excellent image quality.
Open MRI is ideal for patients who struggle with claustrophobia, patients with a high
BMI, and young children who need a parent present throughout the exam.
CT Scan
A computerized tomography (CT) scan combines a series of X-ray images taken from different
angles around your body and uses computer processing to create cross-sectional images (slices)
of the bones, blood vessels and soft tissues inside your body.
Dexa Scan
A DEXA scan is a high-precision type of X-ray that measures your bone mineral density and bone loss.
If your bone density is lower than normal for your age, it indicates a risk for osteoporosis and bone
fractures. DEXA stands for dual energy X-ray absorptiometry.
X-Ray
X-rays are a type of radiation called electromagnetic waves. X-ray imaging creates pictures of the inside
of your body. The images show the parts of your body in different shades of black and white.
This is because different tissues absorb different amounts of radiation.
Ultrasound
An ultrasound scan is a medical test that uses high-frequency sound waves to capture live images from
the inside of your body. It's also known as sonography. The technology is similar to that used by sonar and
radar, which help the military detect planes and ships.

Endoscopy
Endoscopy is a type of procedure wherein the doctor inserts a long thin
tube into the body through an opening such as the mouth, anus
or the urethra. Sometimes small incisions may be made on your body to insert
the tube as well. The tube which is inserted within the body is
fitted with a camera which allows the doctor to see what is wrong within
your body, a specific
section or organ.
Colonoscopy
A colonoscopy (koe-lun-OS-kuh-pee) is an exam used to detect changes
or abnormalities in the large intestine (colon) & rectum. During a
colonoscopy, a long, flexible tube (colonoscope) is inserted into the rectum.
A tiny video camera at the tip of the tube allows the doctor to view the inside
of the entire colon.
ERCP
ERCP (short for endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography)
is a procedure used to diagnose diseases of the gallbladder, biliary
system, pancreas, and liver. The test looks "upstream" where
digestive fluid comes from the liver, gallbladder, and pancreas
to where it enters the intestines.
