Skiing With Heroes aims to continue to develop its valued community of supporters across leading UK businesses and hopes they will continue to support the charity and its goals to raise much needed funds. Through our inaugural event in January 2015, the Business Challenge raised over £45,000 to go towards the development of Pain Management and employment opportunities for our veterans. “This was a fantastic weekend to spend with veterans and to find out more about their needs. The Business Challenge is a great opportunity for you to support the veterans and the work of Skiing With Heroes: you only need to be an intermediate (and above) skier in order to compete with our veterans. I am still smiling which is such a change for me. I am starting to feel happiness, which has been absent for far too long now. I do believe that my recovery has begun. A4 brochure:Layout 1 25/05/2015 10:27 Page 6 06 | SKIING WITH HEROES: THREE DAYS TO CHANGE A LIFE The itinerary The Business Challenge weekend is designed for intermediate skiers and above Thursday 28th January 2016 Saturday 30th January 2016 AM: Flight to Zurich and transfer to Klosters hotel AM: The Giant Slalom. Each entrant will have two attempts on the giant slalom course PM: Team briefing, welcome drinks party and dinner PM: Prize giving dinner Friday 29th January 2016 Sunday 31st January 2016 The Ski Marathon, 11:00-16:30 Departure / optional skiing Teams ski as far as possible in the time allowed, according to the rules that reward strategy and cunning more than outright speed and power. Teams must ski together for the whole event and Last year’s Skiing With Heroes Business Challenge get as close as they can to the maximum distance 2015 was won by a team of veterans and they will of 101.8km. Costs for corporate teams £10,000 per team of four (of which approximately £3,000 goes towards the cost of accommodation, ski passes, dinners etc).
