CONSULTATIONS Have your say on Warwickshire’s health and wellbeing needs A survey has launched to find out more about the unique health and wellbeing needs of Warwickshire’s various local communities. WCC and its partners recognise that the needs of different communities throughout the county will differ greatly depending on a range of factors such as population demographics, infrastructure, community safety and many more. As part of a larger project to gain more insight into life in Warwickshire’s communities, a survey has opened for staff and partners to let the county council know what, in their opinion, the current health and wellbeing needs of areas they are familiar with are and any ideas they have for improvement. The responses to this survey will form part of the 2018-2020 Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) and will help inform service delivery and development. Each year Warwickshire County Council (WCC) has a responsibility to send out survey questionnaires to a random sample of customers who access Adult Social Care services. This is a national survey commissioned by the Department of Health and carried out by every council in the UK who provides social care services. The survey will ask questions about customers’ experiences with WCC social care services so they can use that information to improve the support they offer, and also find out what they do well. The information given is used in two ways: The information is collected nationally and sent to the Department of Health, so they can measure the impact of services across the UK
and plan strategies and policies that meet people’s needs. Locally WCC compares what people tell them through the survey with other customer feedback and uses that to ensure their services are delivering the right support to people and they are commissioning services that meet the needs of people in Warwickshire. They can also use it to change the things that may not be working well or need to improve. In a few months WCC will publish the results along with any actions they will take in response to the survey results. Please make sure to let your customers, friends and loved ones know the survey is coming, and look out for it in the post.
