Santiago C. Corrada President & CEO, Visit Tampa Bay Santiago is an accomplished, recognized leader with over twenty five years of public service experience, with proven success in effectively and efficiently transforming the professional culture of many diverse institutions. His outstanding relationship building skills result in the resolution of highly complex issues through consensus. Corrada has the demonstrated ability to soundly and fiscally manage a convention center resulting in record surplus revenues. He has consistently elevated organizations to higher levels of productivity by empowering team members and stakeholders. Corrada is an intelligent, articulate, dedicated, loyal individual, driven to serve and deliver the highest, quality services. Santiago C. Corrada officially began his position as President and Chief Executive Officer of Visit Tampa Bay in May of 2013 where he is responsible for providing oversight of all agency activities, managing day-to-day operations, and assuring a smoothly functioning, efficient organization. He serves as main spokesperson for the tourism and hospitality industry; ensures stakeholders coordinated efforts in collaboratively increasing visitation to the destination while maintaining open lines of communication with all industry stakeholders. Corrada coordinates effective marketing and sales strategies ensuring maximum return on investment. The organization has been awarded numerous marketing awards over past several years including three HSMAI Platinum Adrian Awards and most recently we were awarded two Henry Awards at Visit Florida’s Flagler Award Ceremony. The Industry has experienced three consecutive record-breaking bed tax collection years. Corrada received HSMAI’s Top 25 Award for Extraordinary Minds in Hospitality, Sales and Marketing. He was also recognized as Hillsborough County’s Hispanic Man of the Year in 2013. With more than 20 years of public service and management experience, Corrada previously served as Chief of Staff for the City of Tampa. In this role, he coordinated and integrated the efforts of more than 50 City departments and divisions. In his tenure with city government, Santiago participated in bidding and hosting efforts for large meetings and groups including Super Bowl XLIII and the 2012 Republican National Convention. Additionally, during the Iorio administration, he served as Convention Center, Tourism, Recreation and Cultural Arts Administrator directly overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Tampa Convention Center, the cornerstone of Tampa's convention business. Prior to joining the City of Tampa in 2004 as Neighborhood Services Administrator, Corrada served as the Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Miami and spent 17 years in the Miami-Dade County School System. His current Board Affiliations include The Florida Aquarium-Board and Executive Committee, Florida Association of Destination Marketing Organizations, Hillsborough County Hotel Motel Association-Board and Executive Committee, Outback Bowl, Straz Center for the Performing Arts, Tampa Bay History Center, Tampa Bay Hospitality Alliance Board, Tampa Bay Sports Commission, Tampa Hillsborough Film and Digital Media Commission, Tampa Museum of Art, Tampa Theatre, Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo-Board and Executive Committee. Corrada graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Miami with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Exceptional Student Education as well as a Master's in Education.
Rob Higgins Executive Director, Tampa Bay Sports Commission In June of 2004, the Tampa Bay Sports Commission named Rob Higgins as its Executive Director. Higgins primary responsibility is to promote the development of community sports in the Tampa Bay area, as well as leading the Sports Commission as the principal organization that bids on and hosts sports and entertainment events in Tampa Bay and Hillsborough County. In the 14+ years Higgins has held his position, Tampa Bay has successfully hosted and/or been awarded the following events: 2007 ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament, 2008 NCAA Men’s Basketball First and Second Rounds, 2008 NCAA Women’s Final Four, 2008 and 2009 ACC Football Championships, 2009 SEC Men’s Basketball Tournament, 2009 NCAA Women’s Volleyball Championship, 2011 NCAA Men’s Basketball Second and Third Rounds, 2012 NCAA Men’s Frozen Four, 2015 NCAA Women’s Final Four, 2016 NCAA Men’s Frozen Four, 2017 College Football Playoff National Championship, 2018 NHL All-Star Weekend, the 2019 NCAA Women's Final Four, 2021 NFL Super Bowl LV, and the 2022 SEC Men's Basketball Tournament. Higgins served on the bid and operations committee which successfully landed and hosted the 2009 Super Bowl. He was named to Tampa Bay Business Journal’s 30 under 30 list and the Tampa Bay Times named Higgins as one of the top 10 difference makers in the Tampa Bay area. Most recently, Higgins was named to the prestigious Street & Smith’s Sports Business Journal “Forty Under 40”. He was also recognized as one of the most influential sports figureheads in the history of Tampa Bay by CBS Radio, one of the top-10 most influential people in Tampa Bay by WTSP 10 News, and Huffington Post listed Higgins one of the top-30 sports marketers in the world.
Josh Taube Executive Vice President of Investments, Strategic Property Partners, Josh Taube serves as Executive Vice President of Investments for Strategic Property Partners, LLC (SPP) including hospitality investments within the Water Street Tampa development. Integrating principles of walkability, sustainability, connectivity, design quality, and wellness, SPP will create, own, and operate the $3 billion, 9 million square foot, mixed-use waterfront development in Tampa. SPP’s hospitality offerings include the renovated 727-room Tampa Marriott Water Street and two hotels which are currently under development – a JW Marriott, and the city’s first five-star hotel, the Tampa EDITION. Combined, there will be 1,420 keys and 175,000 square feet of meeting space spread across the three hotels. Prior to joining SPP, Taube was Senior Vice President with CNL Financial Group, Inc., in Orlando, Florida working on investments including lodging, lifestyle and healthcare. He led debt and structured finance efforts across the platform including public REIT funds and was a key player on the transactional team that averaged $1 billion in real estate investments annually. Taube also worked in municipal finance with NW Financial Group in Jersey City, New Jersey, after receiving a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Marketing from Cornell University.
