It is also easier to find, view, and download entity representations and certifications. • The display of the filters in an easy-to-use list makes the search option easily accessible and expandable. You can view the full list of search options by clicking the bottom arrow.. • Additional safeguards have been added to searching for entity registration information. All users will be prompted to sign in to view entity registration information. If a user does not have a SAM.gov account, they will need to create one. • Federal users will now be required to request a role if they need access to For Official Use Only information or sensitive information about an entity. FAQs • Q: My annual renewal is in June; if I will start going through it today, should I go to betasam.gov? • A: Go to SAM.gov to work on existing registrations. Once it migrates, you will still go to SAM.gov to view/update your registrations. • Q: I already have an account. Will I have to "register" as an entity? • A: A user account is what you need to sign in to the system and do things like save searches. A full entity registration is required in SAM.gov when you plan to apply for a grant or loan or submit a bid on a contract. • Q: Will notifications of contract opportunity established searches be improved (more like FBO) in the future? • A: Yes. Over time, we will continue to incrementally improve the user experience to include enhancements to saved search notifications. • Q: At SAM.gov, there's an alert: ALERT: Each entity registration expiring between April 1 and September 30, 2021, will have an additional 180 days added to its expiration date. Read more about the extension. My entity's registration currently expires 9/10/2021. When will it be updated to add the 180 days? • A: We are processing the extensions in a deliberate, incremental manner over the course of several months, beginning with the registrations that expire the earliest.
FAQs • Q: Will searches rollover? • A: Saved searches in your beta.SAM.gov account today will be preserved through the transition • Q: My role on Beta.SAM is Data If your accounts in legacy SAM and beta.SAM IAE Stakeholder Forum Questions and Answers Entry. It should be Administrator. It is Administrator on SAM.gov. Will this update to Administrator at go live? • A: If your accounts in legacy SAM and beta.sam have the same email addresses, then yes, your legacy SAM role will come over on May 24th. SAM.gov roles are not available in beta.SAM.gov at this time • When will we be assigned our new UEI number? How will I be notified of this number? • There is nothing you need to do to get your new, SAM-generated Unique Entity Identifier (UEI). It will be assigned and visible in your record on-screen after the integration. That means if you go to SAM.gov on or after May 24th and look at your entity registration, the Entity ID (SAM) will be right underneath the Entity ID (DUNS). Don't forget, the DUNS number does remain the authoritative identifier until the government-wide transition is complete in April 2022. You can find more information at www.gsa.gov/entityid.
FAQs • Q: How do we search a DUNS number in the new SAM.gov webpage? • A: You will sign in, then either use the quick search from the home page or use the search page. There is a summary and link to videos/quick guides at https://www.fsd.gov/gsafsd_sp?id=gsafsd_kb_articles&sys_id=ca6759301b47a810b362a820f 54bcbb9 • Q: Are there plans to update the SAM registration screens? • A: Not at this time • Q: Why is the DUNS # being replaced? • A: Amendments to Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) require a non-proprietary identifier to be used to identify entities; a mandate from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) requires federal agencies to begin using the new, SAM-generated UEI by April 2022. • Q: When will we be able to see other entities that express interest in an opportunity like we were able to do in FBO.gov? We used that as a teaming tool to identify those interested in the same opportunity. • A: The contracting officer is the only person who can determine whether to include an Interested Vendors List (IVL) and the view settings for an IVL.
FAQs • Q: Why do I have to share my personal information to verify my identity for something work-related? I saw an email where my driver's license and social security number were going to be required. • A: Identity proofing will only be for entity administrators and it will be optional at the May 24 launch. These pieces of data are used to verify that you are who you say you are, hence proving your identity. They are digitized, encrypted, and matched (not stored) by login.gov using standards set by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). We are excited to start offering this extra level of protection to our entity administrators and will share a lot more information in the future.
